U.S. Watches As Iraq Speeds Toward Disaster

Fighters for the al Qaeda-linked Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) took Mosul today, giving the militant group control of Iraq’s second largest city and setting the country on a path toward chaos.

ISIS militants already control Fallujah, a city that American Marines took in 2004 in what was the bloodiest battle of the Iraq War. Now, with both Mosul and Fallujah under their control, nearly half of Iraq is in the grips of a group that is a formal affiliate of a terrorist group.

Equally troubling are the circumstances under which the city fell. Iraqi security personnel simply abandoned their posts, according to reports.

This is problematic for a host of reasons. First, it shows that the American-trained Iraqi military is not adequate. Second, Iraqi soldiers left their weapons behind – giving ISIS a huge cache of equipment.

But the most disturbing aspect of the desertion is what Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki proposed to replace the missing troops. In an address to the nation Tuesday, he called on Iraqi citizens to take up arms against ISIS in an attempt to retake the city.

It’s GW’s fault. Anyone who thinks Emperor Obama cares is sadly mistaken. Look for American weapons to go to the radicals.

I had to read all the way to the end to find even a mention of Obama’s culpability in the loss of Iraq.

U.S. Watches As Iraq Speeds Toward Disaster

More like Obama stands by and watches as Iraq speeds towards disaster while doing nothing.

FWIW, the “insurgent” forces are being led by a Gitmo terrorist prisoner Obama released in 2009. This released Gitmo terrorist is a much lower level player than the 5 the Obama just released.

Susan Rice and the rest of the Obama Administration have all said that there was a huge sense of urgency driving the release of the 5 Taliban Four Star Terror Generals in custody at Gitmo.

Perhaps the sense of urgency was driven more by knowledge within the Obama Admin about the planned timing of the impending attacks we are seeing in Iraq right now, not any health problems with Bergdahl.

Either because Obama was aware it was now or never time if he ever wanted to get those 5 worst of the worst terrorists out of Gitmo, or so the five could assist in the planned Al - Qaeda offensive in Iraq.

Just for the sake of definition, the terms “insurgent” = Muslim Brotherhood = Al -Qaeda = Taliban = Salafist = ISIS = HAMAS.

They are all one and the same organization, they just use different names to confuse us as to who is doing what to who.

It is folly to imagine we could stabilize Iraq in a hundred years with methods less draconian than those that Sodamned Insane used. Sunnis and Shi’ites have been at murderous odds for 1,200 years - that won’t change soon. Iraq is a vipers nest that should be incinerated. Let Allah (Piss be on Him) sort them out.

We fought the Left nearly as hard as we fought al Qaeda for that victory that they promptly gave back. This one is not going away.

Let me see :
We offer democracy to Tribal War Lords, .. and the wonder why they don't want democracy ?
In a country , ruled by "The Religion of Piece"
and we can't offer 72 virgins ?
we can't offer a place where women are considered property , like a camel ?
where cartoons of the Profit (sic) can't be shown
where non-beleivers are offered conversion ( compromize), and if rejected they are killed and beheaded ?
Where the movement is political, couched in religious garb to gain community acceptance ,
and we wonder why it doesn't respond favorably to democracy ?
Why would they ... ?

Did any rational person really think that Iraq could ever be a peaceful, tolerant, non-violent civilized democracy? I didn’t. Years of bearded savagery can’t be erased by wishing it away.
