Peter was never a Catholic. I’m not sure when he died, but its a safe bet it was before the third century.

Before Catholicism became a religion. Ignatius of Antioch learned the faith from Peter and Paul directly. He refers to himself as a "bishop" of "the Catholic Church" before AD 110. What do you think happened in the third century that changed anything?
