A “conservative secondary”? I think we’re talking about, essentially, the same thing?

BTW, so many ‘tea parties’ are themselves corrupt, self-aggrandizing businesses that I would exclude any role or participation by any groups with paid leadership.

Yes... we are thinking on the same lines.

The question is what mechanism, what method, can be devised and then implemented to economically winnow the conservative candidates to one strong conservative challenger.

The very fact the process is developed will mean the candidates will need money and may weed out the weak that are unable to come up with money support
