Titans of the Washington GOP establishment are bracing for more potential defeats after grassroots-fueled conservative economics professor Dave Brat crushed House Majority Leader Eric Cantor by double digits on Tuesday. The top two GOP establishment icons grassroots conservatives are targeting next are Sens. Lamar Alexander of Tennessee and Thad Cochran of Mississippi.
Brats campaign against Cantor laser-focused on the majority leaders support for comprehensive immigration reform, and how amnesty would economically hurt American workers. Brat ran on the message of Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL), an immigration hawk whos argued against amnesty and an increase in legal immigration based on the economic effect it would have on struggling American families.
That same issueimmigrationis shaping up as a backbone of the coming Tennessee Senate primary, and has played out in Mississippi too.
Tennessee State Rep. Joe CarrAlexanders conservative primary challenger, who is within striking distance of the under-50-percent Alexanderon Tuesday night congratulated Brat, and said hes coming for Alexander in that states August primary. What we have seen tonight in Virginia shows that no race should be taken for granted and all the money and position in the world doesn't resonate with an electorate that is fed up with a Washington establishment that has abandoned conservative principles, Carr said.
Carr added praise for last weeks Mississippi grassroots upset against the establishment. A week ago in Mississippis GOP primary, state Sen. Chris McDaniel beat Cochran in the popular vote forcing a runoff, which will occur two weeks from today.
From Virginia to Mississippi, a transformational change is underway that is being led by a true grassroots movement, Carr said.

Cantor was up 62-28 in pre-primary polls.
That is some good news. Maybe the attack will start.
“Tennessee State Rep. Joe Carr will beat Lamar Alexander. Joe has my vote and $$$.”
No doubt....., Alexander, the Obama puppet, must be defeated...!
I wish the Sevier County Tea Party would have included Carr in their upcoming event. That would have been a great venue for him to get his message out to a big audience.
Carr has plenty of time still. The congressional campaigns are just now starting to put signs out on the roads. I'd rather see Carr's numbers rise substantially a week or two before the primary than to peak now and have the Liberal Newspapers in the state start running "dog brought into county courthouse" type articles about him. One certain east Tennessee paper loves to write such childish & stupid but damaging articles on GOP Conservatives. They love Lamoderate though.
Yeah, we have a liberal rag here in Jackson too. The “Jackson Sun” is well known for endorsing the leftist of both parties, especially the extreme left of the RAT party.
But, to their dismay, West Tn. is getting more and more “RED” each and every election cycle.
I figure Carr should and will carry East Tn. rather easily and probably a good chance of carrying a lot of West Tn.. The real battle ground will be Middle Tn., the bastion of the RAT party.
