Majority Leader Eric Cantor lost in stunning fashion Tuesday night to tea party challenger Dave Brat.
And Sen. Ted Cruz’s staff appears to be pretty celebratory on Twitter in response. The senator and the majority leader have clashed before, most notably over Obamacare. Here are tweets from three top staffers.
Cruz’s speechwriter and senior communications adviser:
Cruz’s chief of staff:
Cruz’s press secretary, responding to a tweet from Erick Erickson on stories about the “Tea Party dying” in the mainstream media:

We in TX had to live with Cornyn because we didnt target him with a viable conservative.... it was a horrible example to set and Im overjoyed the rest of the Nation is waking up and ditching RINOs.I agree. Coryn was beatable, and we missed a great opportunity. By 2020, we will be ready.

Here in Arizona we can expect Weathervane McCain to swing right.Well not at least until 2016. The RINO poster boy only got 56% in his 2010 primary. Just wait till next time. I hope you folks in AZ are already planning, and get a Cruz like candidate ready.

Your post reminds me of Harry Browne’s acceptance speech in 1996 after being nominated by the Libertarians for President.

Following is a statement from Sen. Cruz on last nights Virginia election result:
The results of last nights election in Virginia are reverberating all through the nations Capitol.
Eric Cantor is a good man, but last night, voters in Virginia made D.C. listen loud and clear. This election should be a reminder to all in Congress Republicans and Democrats alike that the conservative base is alive and well, and the American people will hold us all accountable.... Each of us needs to do what we said we would do and tell the truth. ....Washington needs to listen to the people, stop spending money we dont have, and stand up and defend the Constitution.
...I look forward to working with soon-to-be-elected Rep. Brat to help turn our nation around, to pull back from the fiscal and economic cliff we are facing, and to bring back jobs, growth, and freedom in America.
