U.S. Sen. Tim Scott easily won the Republican primary in South Carolina on Tuesday, setting up a general election that could make him the states first elected black senator.
Early returns Tuesday showed Scott, 48, with about 90 percent of the vote over challenger Randall Young. Scott also is the heavy favorite to win in November in this heavily Republican state.

Shame his colleague won too. Though it says a lot when you look at the margins. Graham did worse than Cornyn.

Am I missing something?
Conservatives need to learn to get behind a single candidate challenger early.
Senator Scott happens to be black, which makes you wonder how it is, when so many liberals say the GOP and Tea Party groups are racist.
And those same liberals tend to say the south is a racist region. Yet here we see conservatives in a southern state elect a black senate candidate.
Do facts matter to the liberals, when they shoot off their mouths about their preconceived notions of things????
I’m very happy for Tim Scott!
Welcome Senator Scott. You are one of us and WE ARE MANY.
What they didn’t state, is that Senator Scott was appointed to this Senate seat, when Senator DeMint resigned. So this is his first election running for the Senate seat.
Yup. Cornyn got 59%, McConnell 60% and Graham 58%. See the pattern?
I hope the days of incumbents getting 80+% are over! It’s not healthy.
And furthermore, Graham had to spend millions and had to flood the airwaves to shore himself up, and he still got only 58%.
And there’s still November coming.
As a side note: Cornyn apparently got the LOWEST primary percentage of any incumbent in Texas HISTORY.
CONGRATULATIONS, SENATOR SCOTT !
Thank you!
It’s tough to keep up in every state.

Really? That’s awesome!
Conservatives need to learn to get behind a single candidate challenger early.
Seems like thats the way to do it.
Wow I am thinking the same reading this. I thought perhaps I jumped over a word or something. I need to reread that long sentence again.
Isn’t there a conservative running third party against Lindsey girl? I’d vote for said third party even if it meant putting a jackass in office via a three way split.
Yes, it is encouraging. Gardner is a good conservative from what I’ve seen, too.
I sure hope so.
