RICHMOND, Va. Dave Brat, a local economics professor, toppled House Majority Leader Eric Cantor on Tuesday night in the most shocking primary defeat since Republicans took the House in 2010.
The conservative challengers victory halts one of the most meteoric rises in national politics, and illustrates the strong anti-incumbent fever that has taken over Cantors Richmond-area district. Cantor is the second House incumbent to lose this primary season Texas GOP incumbent Ralph Hall was defeated by a tea-party backed challenger at the end of May.
Cantors defeat not only reorders Virginia politics, where Cantor was the highest-ranking Republican, but it completely throws the House Republican leadership into flux. Cantor, 51, was long seen as the next speaker of the House after John Boehner retires.

SC and VA are light years different from each other.
Dave Brat on live with Hannity now!
Well the open GOP sycophants had to hide until the celebrating died down lest they have to explain their being wrong, so the GOP sent in the concern trolls. Predictable as night following day.
As soon as the GOP lashes out tomorow or the next day, the concern trolls will be gone and the sycophants will be back screaming at us as usual.
Frauds. Every last one of them.
Brat is slicing and dicing the UNIPARTY meme.
A Skyrim / Pony twofer...
See, now this is why you haZ teH WinZ ;)

Ya know, a real cigar aficionado, before lighting a cigar always runs the length of the cigar under his nose while inhaling, to get a sense of the blend, and to be sure it is not underaged, or otherwise not ready for use.
But I think I will skip that step for now.
Power of suggestion and all.....
Not only that, but a primary election in one congressional district is light years different from a state-wide Senate primary.
Glad to be of service! ;)
I had a Partagas (spelling?) 150 once. None since. Can’t afford that and it was too good to spoil the memory.
Checked out your posting history. It showed another atheist who trolls the Religion forum.
I really doubt he will try to mount a write-in campaign. He gave a civil concession speech, spoke of his disappointment, but also what’s around the corner. A write-in would be foolish. He will probably end up just not interfering with the Congressional race.
The Virginia GOP is busy trying to take out a Senator with one of their own. Doubtful that they will help out Cantor now, too big of a margin.
Oh... they still will. I have lots of predictions bookmarked. The internet is forever.

I had a couple today still screaming for pragmatism.
Frauds. Nothing but cheshire conservative frauds here to disrupt us and keep us from doing across America what happened tonight.
I absolutely loathe cheshires.

Great point, JR.
But thats the wrong kind of pragmatism! That way we win and they lose. WE have to lose, do you not see?
Of course you don’t you evil absolutist purist! You hate your country. You make baby Obama sad.

“Did I hear Hume correctly? Personally I support immigration reform.”
None of these treason lobby vermin are honest enough to call it amnesty.
Now here is what is surprising..Cantor gets his behind kicked yet Lindsey Graham wins easily, now THAT is just plain weird. Didnt think Cantor would lose this badly but I think he put his own nail in his political coffin when he went straight leftist about amnesty for illegals..voters in Virginia sent a message to the GOP, we dont want amnesty for illegal alien criminals
Congratulations Dave Brat. Thanks Virginia.
