RICHMOND, Va. Dave Brat, a local economics professor, toppled House Majority Leader Eric Cantor on Tuesday night in the most shocking primary defeat since Republicans took the House in 2010.
The conservative challengers victory halts one of the most meteoric rises in national politics, and illustrates the strong anti-incumbent fever that has taken over Cantors Richmond-area district. Cantor is the second House incumbent to lose this primary season Texas GOP incumbent Ralph Hall was defeated by a tea-party backed challenger at the end of May.
Cantors defeat not only reorders Virginia politics, where Cantor was the highest-ranking Republican, but it completely throws the House Republican leadership into flux. Cantor, 51, was long seen as the next speaker of the House after John Boehner retires.

Then as Reagan said in his 75 speech, “Go your own way”. Plenty of GOP sites need help right about now.
The GOP-E Leadership in the US House, (Boehner, Cantor, and Ryan), is always gullible to Obama’s tricks. Consequently, Boehner, Cantor and Ryan, have all pledged to ram through this unpopular Obama Amnesty Bill due to Obama’s illegal decision to flood the USA with children from Mexico and Central America.
It is time to kick the GOP-E out of Congressional Leadership!
Oh, I’m not really that surprised .I jsut haven’t watched Fox in months, and I was just noting how far they’ve continued to slip.
BTW, met Carl Cameron at CPAC - he’s an ass, and so inside the beltway, he understands zip zero nada about the country.
So glad I no longer have Cable/Satellite TV ......
Amen
I long to hear that Lindsey is gone...(and don’t insult Lindas around the world). LOL!
What a ‘concern troll’ you are, running from thread to thread pissing on everyone’s happiness.
You obviously know it’s a long way to the fall elections, but no, you’ve got to piss now.
What a turd you are.
Well yes, but compared to CNN, Cantor is a conservative ..not that that’s saying much.
Weasels.
Mark Levin is talking to Hannity about people branding Tea Party as extremist kooks who can’t win, “including some of your prominent commentators here.” LOL
Mark Levin on Hannity now.
First answer to Hannity:
“You just heard Dr. Brat for 15 minutes, does he sound like a kook to you?”
Actually you have a posting history, and this concern about too much conservatism, is revealed in it.
The concern troll role seems to be your way, you could have saved it until tomorrow though.
My question is will the RNC / GOP-e now get behind Brat in the Virginia race against the Dems in November or will they let him fend for himself? This will truly show they are evil if they let him have to battle a dem without the GOP / Rove support.
This is a safe gop seat. A very conservative district with a Rep that was more interested in the DC power game than representing the folks back home. The rat is most likely road kill.
“And my mission is to make sure Nancy Pelosi never becomes Speaker again in my lifetime.”
About the DUMBEST way to go about that is to have Cantor re-elected, the House pass Amnesty, and the Republican base respond by staying at home in November.
Sorry, but that was the future staring in our faces, because we’ve seen it way too many times.
Let’s hope this teaches all voters to never give up regardless of polls OR what the “experts” say!
Yeah, both profs at the same college. A good thing, actually since most likely it will be a genteel race.

to hell with the experts. People need to stop listening to the GOP’s plants on right wing websites spouting their ‘no matter what’ crap that led to 4 more for Obama.
