ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) An attempted home invasion turned into a murder investigation Tuesday morning. One suspect is dead and another is in critical condition after allegedly holding a gun to a teens head. St. Louis police are releasing chilling details of a late night shooting in south St. Louis that left one person dead, another injured and a neighborhood shaken up.
It all went down at 11:00pm last night on Newport near Neosho in the Bevo Mill neighborhood. Investigators say it all started with a teenaged girl being confronted by two armed men in front of her home. It ended with one of the suspects dead and another hospitalized.
St. Louis police say a 17 year old girl was outside of her home getting something from a car when two armed men confronted her and demanded that she return to her home.

On the surface it sounds like a righteous shooting. Dad did good, Mom needs to do some realistic “gunfight” target practice.
Terrell Johnson and Cortez McClinton. No mugshots, must be “Amish.”
Just taking out some garbage and keeping the neighborhood clean.
So I didn't read beyond the excerpt, but that little snippet makes it sound like the confronters were curfew Nazis or something: 'Get back to your house little woman'.
Or maybe budding wannabee Saudis: 'Women should not be driving cars - back into the kitchen you harlot!'
I'm sure it was all explained in the link ... but I'm moving on (my work is done here...)
“Just exactly HOW is this a murder investigation?”
Article does not say but in most(?) states you can charge the person assisting in the crime if his buddy is killed by the person attempting to stop the crime.
Mom had a gun too. A no chit family. :-)
Who got ‘murdered”?
Dad ‘did’ homicide. I don’t like to use the term ‘committed’ ‘cause that implies criminality. Homicide is the intentional killing of another. It may or may not be criminal. When a condemned criminal is executed, the manner of death is often listed as ‘judicial homicide’. Intentional, but nice and legal. All circumstances here indicate that the homicide done by the father was justifiable as defense of self or another from deadly force and hence not criminal. A homicide investigation is done to establish all of those facts.
On the other hand, as other posters have pointed out, the surviving perp was engaged in felony that caused the death of another. Intentional or not, victim, conspirator, innocent bystander it matters not. Most states define that as murder in the second degree.
Correct; I think the designation is felony murder, death from any cause during the commission of a felony.
“Who got murdered?”
The dead one.
It damned well shouldn't matter; any registration is an infringement on the right to keep and bear arms, and unconstitutional.
That,s what I like about the South.
A family that shoots together, stays together. Now I hope they take their daughter out to a gun range and incude her in the family sport of target shooting - if they haven’t already.
That`s when police say the teen`s father, a 34 year old man, got his gun and fired several shots at the suspects, hitting both of them. The girl`s mother, also 34, got another gun and fired a round as well, not hitting either suspect..........There was also a five year old boy in the home who fired at the perps with his BB gun.
Thank you for clearing that up for me - ahahaha
