State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf downplayed the risk that the five Guantanamo Bay detainees exchanged for Sergeant Bergdahl might pose should they return to the battlefield.
Lets say the worst case scenario, these five guys do return, in no way would that substantially change the Talibans order of battle on the ground, thats just not even logical. Harf was explaining Secretary Kerrys recent statement that concerns over the five detainees are baloney.
Look, she said at a briefing Monday, is there a chance they will return to the battlefield? As Secretary Kerry said, of course. But we believe we substantially mitigated the risk enough.

This nit-wit is just as bad as Victoria Nuland.
Thank you Obama voters that you gave the nation this lying creep.
Exactly. I think one reason the current administration keeps appointing these young, dumb, ignorant (and poorly spoken) people is because Obama wants us to know exactly how unimportant all of these matters are to him.
National security? Pfah. Like, dude, who’d want to hurt The Won?
In the 70’s I had occasion to make several trips to US embassies for the company for which I worked and reported back to my boss that:
1. If the answer to my request wasn’t specifically covered in their books of regulations they were lost. No one could think out of the box.
2. The American State Department employees clearly had a “superiority complex.” The local employees were easier and more effective.
More barf from Harf.
How much effect could five men have on the battle field?
Imagine the ancient world without Alexander, Napoleon, Caesar, Hannibal, Attila.
Imagine more recent history without John Paul Jones, Lafayette, Joan of Arc, Robert E. Lee, or Rommel.
Imagine history without Churchill, Lenin, Lincoln, Washington, or Gandhi.
Imagine a world without Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Caligula, or Obama.
Sadly, we are releasing five of our enemy’s senior leaders, and these men will have added credibility as survivors of Gitmo, not to mention as those on the winning side of a trade for one treasonous deserter. What difference will they make? I suspect we will find out, and when we do, Obama will announce that he heard it on TV and is very angry at the republicans who allowed the next big terrorist attack to succeed (probably because we didn’t stop global warming, and the Taliban are just lashing out because climate change is disrupting their lives).
Substantial asymmetric warriors. Jihad continues apace.
From, The Quranic Concept of War
The universalism of Islam, in its all-embracing creed, is imposed on the be- lievers as a continuous process of warfare, psychological and political, if not strictly military. . . . The Jihad, accordingly, may be stated as a doctrine of a permanent state of war, not continuous fighting. Majid Khadduri

I’d like to straighten her out.
There were not yet enough murdered for the EXEMPT Congress

Taliban Mullah in Chief Hussein Obama has chosen Secretary of Defending the Taliban Hagel to continue to make Grand Bargains with Gitmo Prisoners so that Gitmo can be closed on the last day that all US Military Personnel finally abandon Afghanistan to the Taliban.
This statement from bammy’s administration makes no sense and is illogical on its face. If five significant players will have no impact, why do we bother with drone strikes, often for just one guy, knowing they may cause civilian casualties? And if these five aren’t significant players, why did we hold them for years? This is BS,pure unadulterated BS.
If they will have no substantial impact, why did we capture and hold them in the first place? My bet is those five will be extremely valuable to those who would fight against us.
Next time our troops need to do what was done in NAM. If someone was caught and later released then caught a second time, they were never seen again. there would be no third time.
Well said
We don’t even have to go very far back into history to learn the lesson of why just one man can make a difference!
General Douglas MacArthur was deemed so valuable to the war effort that President Roosevelt ordered him to flee Corregidor to avoid, even a chance, of capture. Does anyone not agree that the President made the right call and removed MacArthur from a perilous situation.
I’ll bet the Japanese sure thought he was valuable to the Allied effort.
She’d be better off in Victoria’s Secret bra and panties doing pole dances at the local strip club.
Seems like the left have no shortage of finding dopes that make Jay Carney look like Einstein.
