SMYRNA, Ga. (AP) Like an eager date, Leo Smith showed up at Mount Zion First Baptist Church with a bouquet of flowers in hand.
He wasn't seeking romance. He was seeking voters.
As the minority engagement director for the Georgia Republican Party, Smith is helping to lead an effort to recruit African-American voters in pivotal states, a priority for a heavily white party staring with uncertainty at a country that is fast becoming more brown.

Struggles. Nice word.
Article is racist.
JESSE J. HOLLAND is Black Slaver, intent on keeping the House & Field slaves on the Democrat Plantation!
If conservatives “struggle” it’s because of lying and twisted history that obscures the truth. And the AP is a master at it.
Recruit good, conservative candidates and let the racial mixture sort itself out. Most Black Conservatives do not want to run for office.
Yes. It is.
I’ll say it. Most blacks have been bought off with freebies, government jobs and such in exchange for a Democrat vote and at this point it is second nature.
I see very little critical thinking involved.
Give it up. They aint buyin it. Neither are the Mexicans.
GIVE IT UP ALREADY.
If they were masters, then they would not make the lies so transparent.
Just run as dems.
After the way Democrips treated Mia Love in Utah, its no wonder. The stuff they sent her was disgusting
You’d get ALOT more votes from opposing “Affirmative Action” . . making crime and drugs a campaign issue again, opposing The Welfare State
If they won’t vote GOP now they never will. Forget them, they are the Demonrats’ cancer
It is a struggle as we have had to work uphill due to the Democrats owning the false media narritive for the last 40 years...
Time to pull this story out again. Its an easy template when a lazy reporter doesn’t have anything else to write about. They don’t even need to change anything other than the date. It goes hand in hand with the story, that comes in roughly September of an election year, that GOP operatives think they are going to make significant inroads with the black vote this year.
We would be much better off working to secure the Conservative base and making sure they go to the polls and vote right.
Conservatives who stayed home in 2012 gave us Obama again.
I think Obama won 2012 with 100% or more of registered voter turnout in key districts.
