HILLARY CLINTON: Well, if you -- you have no reason to remember, but we came out of the White House not only dead broke, but in debt. We had no money when we got there and we struggled to, you know, piece together the resources for mortgages for houses, for Chelsea's education, you know, it was not easy. Bill has worked really hard .... we had to pay off all our debts which was, you know, we had to make double the money because of obviously taxes....and get us houses and take care of family members.
SAWYER: ...do you think Americans will understand five times the median income for one speech?
CLINTON: ....I thought making speeches was a much better thing than getting connected with any one group or company as so many people who leave public life do.

The Clintons entered the White House almost broke. In Arkansas, they never owned a home, had a couple of dilapidated cars, Hillary worked as a very junior associate in a Little Rock law firm and Bill was AG and Governor. When they left the White House they were millionaires with book deals, over priced speaking deals and general grifting. If Hillary was so broke how did she manage to buy that million dollar home in Chapaqua, NY? Another Clinton lie.
Broke... So that’s why they stole everything in sight as they lingered around Washington, DC well into the Bush inaugeration....

John McCain was pilloried by some because his wife is wealthy, and he allegedly didn’t know how many houses they owned. Why are those same questions never put to the liberals?
Asuming the next Republican nominee actually tries to win votes of the 47% of the population that has fallen further behind under the dems, hillary just provided some real good material.

Good question about the Chappaquah house.
They bought that Chappaquah house in 1999, so that Hillary could claim that as her residence, so she could claim to be a resident of New York, to run for Senate there.
That purchase happened well before Bill made all that money making speeches as an ex-president.
Somehow, somebody helped them buy that house, or get the mortgage, if they really didn’t have any money.
Wish the media would dig into how they acquired that house.
And flat broke? I doubt it. What happened to all her cattle futures profits? And Bill selling all those pardons before leaving office? FLOTUS complaining about the cost of Stanford? I've put one child through a private university and working on getting the second through our state U. On my salary that's a hardship!
