PHOENIX In a new revelation in the growing Veterans Affairs scandal, the organizations acting head says that an additional 18 veterans whose names were kept off an official electronic VA appointment list have died.
Acting VA Secretary Sloan Gibson said he would ask the inspector general to see if there is any indication those deaths were related to long wait times. If so, they would reach out to those veterans families.
I will come personally and apologize to the survivors, Gibson said Thursday....

The MSM, absent of even an iota of real journalism,
dropped this story for next week’s possible weather (again).
What difference does it make NOW?
Sloan is man enough to step in and take the heat. I cannot believe someone in our gov’t is at least acting accountable in the VA trainwreck.
These stories are heartbreaking. The poor families. What they must be going through.
God Bless them all. God Bless the soldier who was lost because they didn’t get the help from the VA.
Sloan is not government, but until recently the president of the USO. That’s why he is manning up and trying to do the right thing, although it won’t be nearly enough.
I was told today that the report on the VA’s will be coming out on Monday.
They are talking now about similar lists at VA hospitals in Kansas City and Wichita. What is becoming clear is that these were not isolated incidents by rogue administrators. It’s appearling more like it was known policy, and probably happened to some extent at the majority of VA facilities.
This is reprehensible, but those Phoenix VA officials who manipulated the lists to get bonuses also committed fraud and there is ample evidence for grand jury indictments. All of these VA officials should face criminal charges.
the VA has not changed...its always been a waiting game for surgeries, procedures etc....its the same in the private sector, where if you need to see a specialist you might not get in for months...
why the VA "crisis" is a big deal right now seems convenient to me....no IRS scandal, no Benghazi scandal, no Ukraine scandal...
“They are talking now about similar lists at VA hospitals in Kansas City and Wichita. What is becoming clear is that these were not isolated incidents by rogue administrators. Its appearling more like it was known policy, and probably happened to some extent at the majority of VA facilities.”
So what is the chance that the people on these lists were affiliated with groups targeted by the IRS?
Even if there were solid proof, It really does not make any difference now.
No one in the chocolate reich ruling America will be held accountable for committing crimes.
Not holding your breath, I trust....
