Back in the days when there were sensible standards, teachers were told not to have any personal contact with students outside of school. Another nice guideline was never be alone with a student for tutoring etc even in school. The best way to avoid these kinds of accusations is to have no online or other private contact with students.

Back in the days when there were sensible standards,
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
Back a few years the USN had an ADM who apparently ‘slipped through the cracks’ or was considered ‘Uppity (If you know, you know)’ and an ‘Employee’ of his had lost her husband or family in an accident and he was seen - IN A PUBLIC VENUE - of putting his arm around her and comforting her.

The ADM got REPRIMANDED - read fired - for his ‘Act of Compassion’ or, I think the term at the time was ‘Random Act of Kindness’.

Granted he was not adhering by the ‘rules’ but at the time a lot more people were just getting reassigned etc for actions ‘behind closed doors’ etc...

If they wanna get you, be careful because they will.

My how times have ‘changed’ ... This slug doesn’t get charged, reprimanded and I suppose the Union will back him enough so where he may get a ‘promotion’ to a desk job rather than can him and prosecute him.
