Former Congressman Allen West joined AM Tampa Bay Wednesday June 4, 2014 to talk about the Bergdahl swap.
“I think that this is very serious when the president of the United States of America decides to release the enemy – prisoners – back to their previous state of nefarious actions,” West said.
Host Tedd Webb asked West if he thought this was a political move that went awry to get the VA scandal off the front pages…?
West said, “Absolutely, I mean you hit the nail on the head. Because the whole thing coming out Saturday, rose garden event, and having the parents there, this was a I’m gonna look real good, everybody is gonna forget about the VA, then I’m gonna head off to Europe and that’s gonna be the end of it. Well this thing has backfired in an immense proportion even worse than the VA scandal…”

You don't act on anything if you cannot control the messages from all sides.
You don't do anything that "Joe Sixpack" can flesh out and find problematic.
You don't do anything that makes you seem arrogant.
If you do screw up, make it seem like a human mistake, not a policy problem.
When it comes to our enemies and allies, they get on board or you drop a JDAM on their embassy (or compounds) and claim it was due to outdated maps.

Al, in a normal world, this would be a backfire of impeachable proportions. Unfortunately, Obama remains unchecked and doesn’t give a damn about any perceived consequences based on constitutional law that simply doesn’t apply to him in his own mind. Given that, he could absolutely care less about public opinion. Tyrants don’t do polls, unless it’s locked up for their own purposes.
Meanwhile, what are those weeping sounds I hear coming from the back office? Will somebody tell John Boehner to dry is eyes and open his damn mouth about this egregious breaking of laws?
This is part of a long term plan to close Gitmo. They don’t care about short term political repercussions.

Plus I think the VA thing is coming back. More secret list have surfaced and there are still hearings ahead. Because of the elections these hearings will be more bipartisan because everyone is trying to save their phony baloney jobs.
