The Talibans release of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl dominated the Sunday talk shows, pushing Fridays resignation of Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki from the headlines.
The Sunday shows were packed with administration officials defending the decision and Republicans launching into political attacks against President Obama and the administration for transferring five Taliban members from Guantánamo Bay to Qatar in exchange for the release of Bergdahl, the 28-year-old whom the Taliban released on Saturday.
"Disturbing" was how Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) put it on ABC's "This Week."
"Dangerous," echoed House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Rogers (R-Mich.) on CNN's "State of The Union."
"We need more information about the conditions of where they're going to be and how," said Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) on CBS's "Face The Nation."
McCain said that while the administration had previously told Congress about the possibility of transferring the Taliban members for the release of Bergdahl, such a plan had received "bipartisan opposition."

In the meantime, Obama has just unleashed five of the most dangerous Taliban criminals back home where they can once again become a clear and present danger to the U.S.
How long? When is enough enough already? How many unconstitutional, illegal, and egregious acts against America are impeachable enough to actually impeach him?
Reminds me of that scene in Chinatown where Escobar tells Jake he’s under arrest, and Jake says “Good news!”
you can’t impeach him simply because he is not a republican and he is black.
If he were a white republican he would have been impeached in his first term.
This administration is running out of squirrels.
“exigent circumstances”
I’m going to keep that in my back pocket if I ever have to face a judge.
Obama has succeeded to get his 'distraction' away from the VA scandal, but it's not what he or they want. Obama has succeeded in producing another scandal with breaking laws and treason.
At this point he is daring the Republicans (i.e. whitey) to impeach him so that he can unleash the Free Shit Army of voters for November.
It is a trap to motivate he base of lowlifes.
I do want him impeached and removed from office, indicted and incarcerated, but that shall not come to pass.
And Sec. of Defense Chuckie Hagel stated that “he was unaware of any deaths caused in the search for Taliban Bergdahl” ... we must assume that Chuckie had his head so far up his rectum that could not see the reports.
Unfortunately, there is no limit to the number of impeachable offenses the Obungler can commit, without being impeached. I wish it was different, but it is not. He has pigment protection.
Not this time asshat MSM! This is both parties attacking this muslim sympathizer! And rightfully so!
If this Bergdahl swap deal gets passed off without a SERIOUS, OPEN investigation where Obama has to explain his CRIMINAL action, (being held totally accountable) there is going to be MANY pissed off Americans this Obama admin. is going to have to deal with in a very undesirable way!
I can not fathom how honorable military men and woman must feel right now!
Did the Bergdahl story bump the VA story off the front page?
Yes, but not as Obama had planned. The Bergdahl story has the potential to be much worse for him, even as the VA story simmers.
The 2014 Senate elections are the central issue. In my judgment, the chances of a GOP takeover of a Senate majority just bounced from 40% to 60%. Yes, the Republicans still can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, but things are looking brighter.
And the greater prospect of impeaching Obama as a mandate for incoming 2014 Republican Congressmen.
