Congratulations, Mr. President! And identical congrats to your sorcerer’s apprentice, National Security Adviser Susan Rice. By trying to sell him as an American hero, you’ve turned a deserter already despised by soldiers in the know into quite possibly the most-hated individual soldier in the history of our military.
I have never witnessed such outrage from our troops.
Exhibit A: Ms. Rice. In one of the most tone-deaf statements in White House history (we’re making a lot of history here), the national-security advisor, on a Sunday talk show, described Bergdahl as having served “with honor and distinction.” Those serving in uniform and those of us who served previously were already stirred up, but that jaw-dropper drove us into jihad mode.
But pity Ms. Rice. Like the president she serves, she’s a victim of her class. Nobody in the inner circle of Team Obama has served in uniform. It shows. That bit about serving with “honor and distinction” is the sort of perfunctory catch-phrase politicians briefly don as electoral armor. (“At this point in your speech, ma’am, devote one sentence to how much you honor the troops.”)

Bergdahl’s release is window dressing, misdirection, to hide the real motives, whatever they are, of this amazing episode.
“He genuinely believed he was going to be praised for this. Oh, and people would forget about the VA thing.”
I thnk that’s it too. He was looking bad for negelcting the Vets, so this would counter the image of him being anti-military. Of course his feckless, bumbling staff blew it.

If he’s not put under arrest pending court-martial... I put the odds of that of 60/40 in favor of arrest.

I see three possibilities here. Either Peters is right on and the CinC and his National Security staff and the press are fools, or the CinC is a malevolent figure fiddling the fools, or what I hope is the case, that the CinC is running one serious counter intelligence op that has some good actors and will yield up something akin to Zawahari’s head.....

Jeff Kuhner, on WRKO Boston, said this morning that The NY Times Magazine says that since the day he took office Barry has been on a mission to release these 5 terrorists. According to Kiuhner he has been obsessed with this for 6 years.
I fully believe they put her out there on Bengazi and this incident because she is BLACK so they can place the black race card and the woman card IF anyone dare criticizes her.

The Washington Post declared that Obama had “marshaled a virtual corps of straw men,” in making an argument for an “Obama doctrine” that was at odds with every US president since the Second World War. POSTER'S OBSERVATIONS---The MSM tried to downplay the icy reception.... saying cadets are instructed not to interrupt the speech w/ applause. But look at the news clips----the overwhelming numbers surrounding the smallish group of grads were family and friends....who failed to applaud.
KEEP IN MIND The WH criminals have plans.....including the use of federal military force, authorized during times of "civil unrest." Only question is: how are "tolerant and compassionate" Dummycrat weenies planning on creating "unrest" so that the Chicago criminals in the WH can subdue us?
Fact is.....HE is the civilian the military needs to protect us from. After that chilly reception the narcissistic POS got at West Point, there's no question about who they'll take their orders from. Clearly, most of the military think he’s a POS; they won't take orders to go against civilians.
The POS prez is decidedly stupid---he thinks a bunch of Chicago criminals can outgun the highly-armed and sophisticated American public.
The Chi/criminals better read the Constitution----the military can commandeer the WH, the Oval Office, and its occupants in a nanosecond.
More egregiously, the Obamatons have been tinkering w/ the composition of the military to reinforce their left-wing agenda; enlistees include homos/transgenders, and other perverts, fem/lib weirdos/lesbians, illegal aliens (probably felons). These people owe their lives to the clown and will kill Americans citizens with glee.
Hardly the types the establishment military needs to wage war. The military-hating Obama's tinkering is not designed to garner applause from the military establishment.
The facts are these: Obama's incomparably stupid West Point speech signals his presidency has entered a crisis of confidence, marking an abysmal failed presidency.

SOMEONE wanted this to be a scandal. Someone who has influence over the media because the media was all over this. They didn't ignore it like they do every other Obama scandal. If this was going to be true to form it would have been nothing but a conspiracy theory among all those right wing nuts. Heck, it's doubtful they would have even reported the 5 gitmo terrorists released.
There's no way for Obama to distance himself...he took full credit and plastered his face all over it. This is almost, almost, a military coup. No military people kept their mouths shut.
