Republicans and some Democrats have criticized President Barack Obama for releasing five Taliban leaders from the Guantanamo Bay military prison in exchange for Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl.
But Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says he's happy they've been freed and sent to Qatar.
"Guantanamo has been there far too long, and I think that we should get them out of there as quickly as we can," he said of the remaining 150 prisoners still classified as "enemy combatants" and held without charges.
"We've been held up from doing that by the Republicans, not wanting any of them to be tried here in the United States even though our record here is really quite good," Reid said on Tuesday. "So I'm glad to get rid of these five people, send them back to Qatar."

The bottom line fact is bottom really should have distanced himself much more from this deal....gave credit to State or Dept of Defense or CIA....almost like it happened without his knowledge. By placing himself front and center, Obama owns this prisoner swap. If the American guy is crack-pop...he’s immediately Obama’s problem. If one of those five guys does some heinous act, Obama will have blood on his hands. It’s just that simple.
Obama was in such a hurry to get the VA off the table, his team didn’t think this one through. The exchange was always going to be awkward at best, but the Obama team really screwed up the optics and the tone of the release. It wasn’t just bad policy...which we are all used to. It was bad politics as well. I think the poop is finally starting to catch up to and overwhelm team Obama.

Hey here’s an idea, let’s release the rest of the Gitmo detainees and let them all move into Harry Reid’s house, sound like a plan
Harry lives on another planet where he thinks he is a god and creating his own reality. (This is true - Mormons believes this.)
As a result, he thinks that by him proclaiming such things, they will really happen; and conversely, by him ignoring the reality of this world, other things won’t happen.
So he ignores that by releasing these terrorists they will continue to be a huge threat and they will create more American deaths through more terrorist activities. On Reids planet and Reids created reality, this can’t happen.
