Mike Rogers: WH Claims on Bergdahl Don't Match Records

Rep. Mike Rogers says he's been looking at the records of meetings White House staffers have had with the House Intelligence Committee he chairs, and they don't match up with claims the administration is making.

According to The Washington Post, Chief of Staff Denis McDonough and Press Secretary Jay Carney say the White House has been briefing Congress for five years on a potential deal to free Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl from Taliban captors.

But Rogers told CNN on Monday that the stories they are telling now differ from what they said in the past.

Bergdahl was freed Saturday in exchange for five Taliban leaders held by the United States at its Guantanamo Bay prison. Rogers is among a bipartisan group of lawmakers who think the deal was improperly negotiated.

He told "Fox & Friends" on Monday that the deal was a "political stunt." On CNN's "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer," he said the administration is "misleading" the public in the aftermath.

You’ve drummed up a phony argument over something that hasn’t been said. You can read what was said or not, but this is not a legit disagreement because you’ve trumped it up out of whole cloth.

When this Bergdahl character WENT AWOL and SHOULD have been declared a DESERTER from the gitgo, he left behind emails and notes saying he was “disgusted” with the United States and talked about RENOUNCING HIS CITIZENSHIP. (During my 4 years in the USAF in the Vietnam era, I wasn’t all that thrilled about how the government was mishandling a war that was getting so many of our folks unnecessarily KIA but never once thought about doing what THIS clown did!)

Despite obozo’s desire to keep all this hush-hush, MORE will come out as his former comrades defy orders to shut up and do speak out.
Now, here are the $64,000.00 questions that may have already been asked:
After 5 years with the Taliban, just how many IEDs and other “devices” did they teach him how to construct?
And, once he’s set out and about in the US population, how many other similarly disaffected malcontents, black muslims, radical Bill Ayers/Bernadine Dohrn wannabes will he teach everything the Taliban taught him?

Think Boston Marathon bombers X 10 to the 10th power on steroids!!

And we can all thank the TRAITOR in the Spite House, his lackeys in the bureaucracy, congress, the Pentagon and the lapdog media!

Doesn’t bother you, you say? It may if one of YOUR loved ones happens to be in a shopping mall when one of those devices goes off

Sen. Chambliss was just on fox saying that previously he had requested the file on Bergdahl and that info. Reported this week in the New York times like his note when he left was not in it.

So it appears the White Hut has been hiding facts about the traitor to Congressional oversight members.

So what? That is a question seeking an answer.

So what. That is a statement, and it seeks no answer.

Your initial response to me was a blank fart.

The media can inform the public. Talk show host can inform the public. An airplane can inform the public with smoke writing.

No one needs a congress person to inform the public.

That is not his job.

His job is to hold a lawless president to the law.

He needs to do his job.

If he wants to be a reporter, then he should go apply for that job.

I’m not interested in your excuse making for the stinking GOP, which is clearly enabling this tyrant president.

This is kinda like mentioning in the middle of the night to your sleepy wife in June, that you and some of the guys are thinking of flying out to Montana in December for a Christmas week hunting trip.

As you begin packing for the trip 3 hours before you leave, the wifey pops her head in the bedroom door and asks; ‘What are you doing Hon?’

Oh, I am packing for that hunting trip that we talked about.

As you spend the next hour and a half on the phone with your attorney, it just might occur to you that maybe you and the wife didn’t fully talk the trip out...

You’ve drummed up a phony argument over something that hasn’t been said.

You asked if Rogers had contacted authorities to have Obama arrested.

Unrealistic and silly.

Uh...yes. Congress informs the public of what's going on all the time. For example, Feinstein (altho I can't stand her) made a public statement that there was bipartisan opposition to the trade years ago. No press person reported that.

Now Rogers is telling us there is no paper trail proving Bowe was sick. The press people didn't have that info and didn't report it.

Yes, it's the media's job to inform the public. But the task of oversight given to congress demands that they also let us know what's going on.

I will respond only to call you out for deliberate misrepresentation, which is akin to lying.

You posted : He just did something. He's alerting the public about the facts of the case.

I replied : Big whoop. Did he call the authorities to have the perps arrested?

Notice the absence of the proper noun Obama. Can you? I can and do. Can you read my other responses that clarify my post? I can and did.

You have crossed over into the Twilight Zone of truthfulness in posting.

Notice the absence of the proper noun Obama.

But you used the Presidential arrest argument here:

(You unintentionally are implying the U. S. President is above the law and cannot be arrested.)

You sound confused.

“Also”?

“Also” along with what?

Because “Also” presumes he’s doing something else, and he’s not. At all.

Media needs to let us know what's going on and ALSO this is the job of congressional oversight.

You : What perps? Obama and Hagel? Do you think a House committee chair can make anyone arrest the President? Silly and completely unrealistic.

Me: You mentioned Obama in answer to your own question "What perps".

If either of us is being silly and/or unrealistic, it is a not I but rather someone who has studied the rules of S. D. Alinsky. Again, in this matter, that is not I, and you know it (but have revealed in several posts that you have small regard for that which is factual).

What's the bet for the number of posts you can get out of me past "end of story"?

Media did.

Congressman needs to do congressman’s job, not media’s job.

Period, end of story.

I’m done talking to you.

Could you now please develop a more feel-good opinion? One that has hell breaking loose only partially and not in its entirety.

***
Wish I could. It’s so distressing to see my country heading full bore into the abyss. Even more distressing is knowing that there is just a minority of us who are paying attention while the rest are occupied with bread and circuses.
