Mike Rogers: WH Claims on Bergdahl Don't Match Records

Rep. Mike Rogers says he's been looking at the records of meetings White House staffers have had with the House Intelligence Committee he chairs, and they don't match up with claims the administration is making.

According to The Washington Post, Chief of Staff Denis McDonough and Press Secretary Jay Carney say the White House has been briefing Congress for five years on a potential deal to free Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl from Taliban captors.

But Rogers told CNN on Monday that the stories they are telling now differ from what they said in the past.

Bergdahl was freed Saturday in exchange for five Taliban leaders held by the United States at its Guantanamo Bay prison. Rogers is among a bipartisan group of lawmakers who think the deal was improperly negotiated.

He told "Fox & Friends" on Monday that the deal was a "political stunt." On CNN's "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer," he said the administration is "misleading" the public in the aftermath.

He’s informing the public. Something wrong with that?

Just the fact that they haven’t already convened impeachment proceedings shows me that they aren’t going to do a damn thing.

This is high treason.

He just did something. He's alerting the public about the facts of the case.

Big whoop. Did he call the authorities to have the perps arrested?

What perps? Obama and Hagel?

Do you think a House committee chair can make anyone arrest the President? Silly and completely unrealistic.

I was saying it's just talk unless action follows. (You unintentionally are implying the U. S. President is above the law and cannot be arrested.)

If you think Rogers can have Obama arrested you are very unrealistic.

So silly.

Now, if they proceed with hearings (which they will do) and treason is uncovered that would be another story, but it still would not happen just on Rogers say so.

My response to you was not a question, thus it did not require a response.

Unless they are trying to COVER another one of their CRIMES up with this idiocy. VA, Benghazi, gun running, etc...

My opinion is that Obamugabe got to use the Rose Garden presser to show the mohammedans that we have surrendered, that he has handed us over to them. Bergdahl praising his satanic deity in front of the WH was the perfect scene for the official surrender.

Could you now please develop a more feel-good opinion? One that has hell breaking loose only partially and not in its entirety.

LOL. Of course not. But your scenario is unrealistic and there's nothing wrong with pointing that out.

I didn't claim a response was "required".

Thousands of comments on FR every day are not required. But people still log their opinions.

You are badly mistaken. I presented no scenario to you or anyone. Nothing I've posted in this thread is unrealistic. You find fault and silliness where none exists. You are stirring up trouble needlessly.

Me : I was saying it’s just talk unless action follows. (You unintentionally are implying the U. S. President is above the law and cannot be arrested.)

That was post 26. You must have missed it.

Or maybe you were intentionally implying the President is above the law.

OK...I'll point out your unrealistic scenario.

Earlier you said:Did he call the authorities to have the perps arrested?

If you think Rogers can have Obama arrested either you're pretending not to know or really don't know that that would not happen. A House member doesn't have power to have the President arrested as your comment implied.

When does anything 0bama and the WH say match up with reality? I’m serious.

(You unintentionally are implying the U. S. President is above the law and cannot be arrested.)

I'm not implying...I'm STATING that a single House rep doesn't have power to do this. If a President is convicted by the Senate that would be a different story.
