When Bob Bergdahl launched in Arabic, invoking Allah while standing next to President Obama in the White House Rose Garden, a number of Americans were startled. Claire Lopez, a former CIA operations officer, a strategic policy and intelligence expert with a focus on Middle East, national defense, WMD, and counterterrorism issues, emailed her friend Allen West:
“What none of these media is reporting is that the father’s (SGT Bowe Bergdahl’s father Bob) first words at the WH were in Arabic – those words were “bism allah alrahman alraheem” – which means “in the name of Allah the most gracious and most merciful” – these are the opening words of every chapter of the Qur’an except one (the chapter of the sword – the 9th) – by uttering these words on the grounds of the WH, Bergdahl (the father) sanctified the WH and claimed it for Islam. There is no question but POTUS knows this.”
I am not knowledgeable enough to judge the claim of sanctifying the White House and claiming it for Islam, but I place a lot of stick in watching nonverbal cues, people’s quick reactions. And so, when our friends at iOwnTheWorld.com captured and enlarged President Obama’s reaction to Bergdahl’s invocation of Allah, it hit me hard.
Watch for yourself and see if it means anything to you.

I was just thinking the same thing! I am glad that Rush's show was on the air then or we would never have seen that revealing little piece of tape.
We have a Muslim President. As if there was any doubt. And a Marxist to boot. What a combination. We are lucky to have survived this far. Two and a half years to go. Keep your fingers crossed.
I thought it was pleasure mixed with discomfort. Apparently his staff did not vet the father — figured he was just some simple laborer from flyover country — 0 was made to be the stupid one—His plan to be the hero is going down the tube. Partly thru the actions of the father (who had planned to go and try negotiating his sons release) and then thru the military who aren’t nearly behind him as he thought ( VA- response at graduation speech - now speaking out about this). Stick a fork in him. 0 is finished!

He spent his childhood in Indonesia, enrolled in a Muslim school. Arabic (necessary to understand the Quran) would have been part of his school curriculum.
Arabic, Jive, Standard English, probably some French thrown in (the language of surrender)... he's a better at Language Arts than Constitutional Law.
I noticed that too, I also noticed Obama couldn’t keep his hands off his old lady.
As someone said on another thread, everything he does makes sense if you accept that he is a Muslim who wanted to “fundamentally transform America.”

The first time I watched the video, I was dumbfounded by the father, but then I watched again and focused on Obama’s face. I couldn’t believe the freakin’ smile that came across his face, and started posting comments on this as soon as I saw it.

I am NOT defending Mr. Bergdahl; however, I am attempting to explain something that I think is being missed. The Bergdhal’s belong to a conservative Presbyterian denomination. It and several others of similar theology are involved in a theological controversy called the Insider Movement, which is a theory of doing evangelism to Muslims by taking on those aspects of their culture which do not deny the Bible as a means of bridging the cultural gap in order to present the Gospel. One of the most controversial aspects of this movement is using the name Allah for the God of the Bible. You will notice that Mr. Bergdahl did not invoke Mohammed in his Arabic statement. That is purposeful. While calling God, Allah, he is not accepting Mohammed as God’s true prophet. (Which means he CANNOT be Muslim.) This is KEY. It seems that Mr. Bergdahl is attempting to reach out to his son. This is further exemplified with his long hair and beard. However, I believe these people are Christians and are very, very broken over what has happened to their son. Unfortunately, that has also made them very effective foils for the President politically. That is a whole other issue in this story.
Again, I AM NOT DEFENDING this theory of missiology. Nor am I defending the actions of Bowe Bergdahl. I am merely trying to explain behavior that I believe is being misunderstood.

If you need further evidence, when Bergdahl first speaks, Obama is not “in-frame” on the CNN clip. The only place I saw it was on the Wall Street Journal clip.
