Ah, that’s because you never saw John Unitas play football, live, in-person nor knew the kind of upstanding man he was except maybe in a couple of video clips. ;-)

I saw Johnny U. play his famous game against the Giants in 1966 when I was an Airman 2nd Class while in radio school at Scott AFB, IL.
It was on a small B&W TV, of course.
That’s right. Hence the “I’ve ever seen” caveat. LOL.
