This “pastoral letter” was sent by Planned Parenthood and it reads:
Many people wrongly assume that all religious leaders disapprove of abortion. The truth is that abortion is not even mentioned in the Scriptures—Jewish or Christian—and there are clergy and people of faith from all denominations who support women making this complex decision.
The letter text:
The decision to have an abortion is personal. Though your reasons may be complicated and private, you’re not alone. As religious leaders from a number of religious traditions, we’re here to support you in your decision.Many people wrongly assume that all religious leaders disapprove of abortion. The truth is that abortion is not even mentioned in the Scriptures—Jewish or Christian—and there are clergy and people of faith from all denominations who support women making this complex decision.
The beliefs of each person are deserving of respect, and each person deserves care and compassion. No one should be allowed to force their faith teachings on anyone else.
We believe this decision is yours, made with your doctor and anyone else you choose to bring into the conversation, such as a spouse, partner, parent, or clergy person. …
God loves you and is with you no matter what you decide. You can find strength, understanding, and comfort in that love.

The letter ends saying that they will refer you to some pastor that supports abortion.
Pro-lifers need to contact Planned Parenthood to see who these pastors are so people can avoid them or try to convert them to the true Jewish or Christian faith.

I recommend “The Protestant’s Dilemma” by Devin Rose. He discusses the whole thing about every Protestant has a different interpretation of the Bible. The most insidious of this letter is that God loves us no matter what. He loves us but if we reject Him, he cannot make us be with Him.
Rachel lamenting that she did not have any children is the case where a woman is barren and in the Old Testament.
As far as Christianity is concerned, Jesus would have been foolish to speak about abortion as it was a central part of Jewish law/tradition to have children.
It is in the Didache or the Teaching of the Twelve Apostles to the Gentiles that abortion is prohibited. It also prohibited homosexuality.
The reason it is in these writings is that the audience was the Gentiles. Jewish people, at the time of Christ, knew that abortion was wrong.
6th Commandment; “thou shall not murder” has no bearing?
The most insidious of this letter is that God loves us no matter what. He loves us but if we reject Him, he cannot make us be with Him.
Hell is full of people who think they can do whatever they want and have not consequences when they face God in judgement...
Well, one could go to the "Declaration" of scripture, the ten commandments: "Thou Shalt NOT kill!"

These people who wrote this letter, came up with this wicked scheme....I am glad I am not them.
“When men strive [struggle/quarrel/contend/fight] together and hit a pregnant woman, so that her children come out, but there is no harm, the one who hit her shall surely be fined, as the woman’s husband shall impose on him, and he shall pay as the judges determine.
"But if there is harm, then you shall pay life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.
Interpretation: If the child lives, then the husband still has the right to demand a fine for the premature birth. If there is injury - note that the text does not distinguish between mother or child there - then everything up to and including the death penalty is on the table.
There’s nothing about pastors that makes them anything other than human. And, thanks to the abortion/baby parts industry, we’ve gotten a good look at how twisted, perverted and murderous humans can be.
As for the “complex decision,” it’s more often about convenience than anything else.

Notice also the other teachings and especially on the Eucharist. Most Protestant denominations and Bible believing churches just shrug this stuff off. The Catholics dont shrug this off and claim to be the Church established by Christ through his 12 apostles.

But, PP just said abortion isn’t mentioned in any of the Scriptures, so how could somebody be forcing it if no faith’s documents condemns it?
I agree that passage in Exodus 21 clearly shows that there is a penalty for someone who would induce a miscarriage - or abortion. And for the case of killing the unborne infant - death.
And of course you have Exodus 20 (Thou Shalt Not Kill [Murder]).
And you have other various passages where God is appalled about the people sacrificing their babies to Molech.
Jeremiah 32:35 And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.
Leviticus 20:2 Again, thou shalt say to the children of Israel, Whosoever he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, that giveth any of his seed unto Molech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones.
The idea that God does not condemn the act of abortion is the ridiculous grasping of straws by the depraved. We can all make mistakes - but repent of them, don't encourage others to go down the same path. The "Pro-Choice" people need to choose correctly, and the choice is simple.
Deuteronomy 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live...
The stark fact remains, that “therapeutic” abortions were going on in Biblical times, and probably going back to the time when there were still Neanderthals among us. Some of the methods used probably were pretty brutal, threatening the life of the mother very nearly as much as the fetus being aborted, but the alternative was infanticide, a fairly common method of birth control up through probably the early 20th Century, until the emergence of Margaret Sanger.
Under the standards of the day, it was probably highly unlikely that the thrust of a knitting needle that caused an abortion, or a hatpin pushed into the “soft spot” on the top of the newborn’s head, would have been detected by the authorities. The abortion would appear to be “spontaneous”, and the infant suffered a “crib death”.
A lot of souls were condemned to purgatory or worse.
