So those Downs babies would be better off in state-run orphanage. Got it.

Sorry, “a state-run orphanage” was not the only alternative, and I think you know that very well. I’ll add that the argument-by-extreme-example you used is typical of leftist gay agitators. The more common gay-parenting situations today are (a) a mom/dad has a change of heart, leaves one biological parent of the child behind and takes up with a same-sex partner; or (b) a child conceived artificially (by surrogacy or in vitro of a lesbian parent) is adopted by the non-biological partner in the gay pair. Check out Elton John’s kids, and tell me they are well off.

"State-run orphanage" vs "Gay guys get a little guy" --- oh my! --- you know those are not the only options. How strange that you would set it up that way.

There are -- I know this for a fact --- thousands and thousands of mom & dad married couples who are in the position my husband were in 17 years ago, when we were looking to adopt a child: home-studied and ready to go, but no kids available through an avenue we could afford. We were not poor people, but people of modest but adequate means, perfectly capable of welcoming another child into our family, but blocked by enormous institutonal barriers and financial (meaning agency) costs.

We finally got our adopted son from Russia. People say "Why Russia? Aren't there enough needy children here?" Sure. But try to get one and you'll experience what it's like to bang your head against a brick wall.

And Downs? I told my husband I thought I could face Downs, blindness, deafness, about anything except FAS. Our beloved son came to us with club foot, cleft palate and CAPD and we welcomed him as a gift of God.

How is it that there are institutional obstacles and financial barriers in the way for mom & dad families to get adoptable kids, but two-career gay male "couples" --- judging from local newspaper coverage --- seem to get the red carpet treatment???

You tell me.

If you are going to support the homosexual agenda in any way, shape or form, you can post elsewhere. Do not post it here!
