Sorry, “a state-run orphanage” was not the only alternative, and I think you know that very well. I’ll add that the argument-by-extreme-example you used is typical of leftist gay agitators. The more common gay-parenting situations today are (a) a mom/dad has a change of heart, leaves one biological parent of the child behind and takes up with a same-sex partner; or (b) a child conceived artificially (by surrogacy or in vitro of a lesbian parent) is adopted by the non-biological partner in the gay pair. Check out Elton John’s kids, and tell me they are well off.
Listen, I’m not pushing a gay agenda. I’m a 19 year officer in the army and I’m disgusted by what’s happened with gays in the military. I’m from a family with several adoptions. Just passed along an example from my extended family. What do you think happens to kids with downs that aren’t adopted? The sad fact is not too many kids with this issue or other medical complications get adopted quickly. That is all.
