RE: A really good question that isn’t answered here is “what was the minimum wage raised from?” If the minimum wage were raised to $10 an hour, it would be more realistic and applicable to the discussion of what the minimum wage should be.

That's a 61% increase!! Doesn't anyone study Economics anymore?

A 10% raise would be to $10.25. That might make some sense, and the results would apply to the real world. I don't understand how anyone with even an ounce of brains would raise the minimum wage more than 10% a year.

I believe that deal only applies to City of Seattle (government) employees. The comprehensive wage increase is being voted on today.
