Researchers with the IUCN Polar Bear Specialist Group (PBSG) recently admitted to experienced zoologist and polar bear specialist Susan Crockford that the estimate given for the total number of polar bars in the Arctic was “simply a qualified guess given to satisfy public demand.”
Crockford has been critical of official polar bear population estimates because they fail to include five large subpopulations of polar bears. Due to the uncertainty of the populations in these areas, PBSG did not include them in their official estimate — but the polar bear group did include other subpopulation estimates.
PBSG has for years said that global polar bear populations were between 20,000 and 25,000, but these estimates are likely much lower than how many polar bears are actually living in the world.
“Based on previous PBSG estimates and other research reports, it appears there are probably at least another 6,000 or so bears living in these regions and perhaps as many as 9,000 (or more) that are not included in any PBSG ‘global population estimate,’” Crockford wrote on her blog.

There are times when I vigorously disagree with Talk show hoat Dennis Praeger. Not often here in FR’s,and usually by screaming at my radio set.
But;
Praeger this week interview a guy who completely exposed the New York Times as a fraud resorting to agenda driven news fabrication as it does countless times.
Remember way back when it reported a viscious murder of a young Queen’s New York woman comming home late at night. Off her shift as a bar/maid waitress. Who was stabbed to death multiple times in the entranceway to her building that was wittnessed by 38 people who never called the cops or tried to interefere ?
It was a complete fabrication, a lie. That story made the rounds to the extent it was used as an example as man’s callousness (specifically directed at New Yorkers) and indifference as well as unwillingness to get involved. In fact Praeger admitted he used that episode many times to illustrate man’s cruelty to man and in this interview with the suthor lamented doing so.
Unfortunately I remember off hand the interview but not the victims name which I know was Italian but not accurately enough to spell it out here or the author’s name or book title in the time frame allowed to post comments here in FR.
My point in posting this comment is that Polar bear story was eagarly spread by that same publication The New York Times considered “a news outlet of record” giving it a credability it doesn’t deserve.
The next time any talk show host or other conservative news sources apply any reference to that publication. They should asked and I for one will be doing this. Using this query;
Why are you grasping at straws using the premier agenda driven propaganda medium of the lefties The New York Times as a source of support for your assertion ? Without stating what it is. And reminding your listener or reader what it is.
Time to Tear It Down !
That book pretty much explains it all. I cannot recommend it enough. It is about the most important work on the subject of power since “The Prince” and in many ways surpasses it.
What is frustrating to me is seeing the knowledge in it played out daily and not being able to convince people to get a copy and learn for themselves.
And then USE that knowledge where possible.
Oh I had enough a long time ago. The problem is that I can’t get enough people to elect principled conservatives to fry these bastards in a court of law.
