California gives 54(?) electoral votes to liberal Democrats every election cycle.
Good luck busting that up.
Too bad it isn’t easier to do this sort of thing, but the party in power never voluntarily gives it up, especially Democrats.
We should keep California and expel LA and SF. Cal it LaLaLand.
Only 6 more States, and then OBAMA will have his 57 States.
This should read:
“California NitWit Who Thought This a Good Idea Proposes Moronic Prop to Drive More LibTards to Polls in November”.
If this gets 20% of the vote I’d be surprised. But it ensures ZERO advantage for the GOP here which would result from low Dim turnout. It wouldn’t be much, but it would be some.
No chance of that now.
I’m from one of those counties, and would love for them to break away, but the liberal power brokers in the population centers will never hand them the key to the chain locks. Besides, the Mexicans won’t tolerate a non-Hispanic entity breaking free to self-determination. California is conquered territory.
Article IV, Section 3;
New States may be admitted by the Congress into this Union; but no new State shall be formed or erected within the Jurisdiction of any other State".
WV
Pray for seismic activity!
The name of the southern half of the state should be Stalinfornia.
The vote is on June 3, not in November.
Constitution, schmonstitution....we don’t have to abide by that old parched document anymore. The Ruling Class doesn’t.
and NV
what state was Nevada carved out of?
While I wish them luck, I don’t see the STATE giving up without a fight regardless of the popular vote.
My understanding was that there is a provision in the constitution to create new states from existing states. I thought both the state involved plus Congress had to approve of a breakaway part of a state, but that it is allowable. I’ll look and see if I can find it.
New States may be admitted by the Congress into this Union; but no new State shall be formed or erected within the Jurisdiction of any other State; nor any State be formed by the Junction of two or more States, or Parts of States, without the Consent of the Legislatures of the States concerned as well as of the Congress. Now one can argue about whether the permission of the legislature(s) and Congress clause only applies to the formation os states by the junction of two or more states or parts of state, or encompasses the formation or erection of states within the jurisdiction of another, but the precedent of West Virginia makes it hard to argue that it doesn't apply to the whole list of otherwise forbidden actions.
Maine was formed out of Massachusetts during the time that the founders were still in power.
Stalinfornia. is Alameda County!
