Thats $2 billion with an uppercase B!
Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has apparently won the bidding war Thursday for the Los Angeles Clippers with a staggering $2 billion offer for the NBA franchise, according to the L.A. Times.
The frenzied battle to get the team from Sterling drove the franchises price sky high for a team that Forbes estimated was worth at $575 million in January of 2014.

Big time.
And those who tend to watch basketball, probably more than the rest of the population, will be shelling out over their indignation about their racial pride and skin colour.

A real estate agent knocked on my door this morning and said the house 3 doors down just sold for $2,000,001. I looked at her and said and one dollar? She said bidders sometimes add the dollar just in case someone matches the 2 mill. The house sold over asking price and obviously had a bit of a bidding war.

It was estimated that the Clippers were worth around $800 million. Consider the fact Sterling bought the Clippers for $12 million.

Yeah sure. This whole event was set up by the NBA mafiosi. Certain to be a game plan to get an NFL team back to Los Angeles.

I have a hard time believing Sterling isnt going to fight the forced sale regardless of the profit. If he's really getting $2 billion, he's the winner.

Crap. I was hoping Sterling would drag the National Thug League through a couple of decades worth of court hearings and trials.Seems to me that he is laughing his 80 year old a$$ all the way to the bank.

I’m guessing he’ll go after them for that 300 million bucks in extra tax liability they created for him.

I read somewhere that since it is a forced sale, it is not subject to capital gains taxation.
