On May 28 Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-MD) said Democrats "may offer" gun control amendments to the Commerce, Justice, Science spending bill this week in response to Elliot Rodger's Santa Barbara attacks.

Anti gunners cannot be reasoned with (their position isn't based on logic, but a blind worship of govrnment). They cannot be bargained with (they have nothing to offer - they simply want to take what is ours). They feel neither pity nor remorse nor guilt for taking something from us, but rather they feel a self satisfaction for sticking it to a group they loath and fear - those of us who believe in individual freeodm over the power of the atate. And above all they're relentless. They never stop, they're never satisfied. They won't quit until
.....Or there is 4. A court decision that smacks them down.
Three of the biggies....Cho @ Va Tech, Adam @ Sandy Hook, and the most recent psycho were ALL diagnosed with serious mental issues. Really serious. Yet when they were buying their weapons they must have “mistakenly” checked NO in the box asking if the purchaser has mental health issues. Oh my. If you’re diagnosed with a very, serious mental illness why oh why is that not found on a background check? It sure as hell should be!
Are they going to make “insanity free zones” to keep everyone safe?
Got to remember that it was before they committed any crimes, so if they did not get charged before, they would pass inspection.
Answer: A good guy with a gun.
These hypocrites should NEVER call the police to help them if they hate guns so much. I wonder if any of the cops that have come to stop a school shooting have been arrested later for bringing in guns to a gun free zone.
If these same anti-gun nuts were around during WWII would they have made us go to fight Hitler with rubber chickens?
They were around. Look up Charles Lindberg and peace movement
Each year, Dihydrogen Monoxide is a known causative component in many thousands of deaths and is a major contributor to millions upon millions of dollars in damage to property and the environment. Some of the known perils of Dihydrogen Monoxide are:
Death due to accidental inhalation of DHMO, even in small quantities.
Prolonged exposure to solid DHMO causes severe tissue damage.
Excessive ingestion produces a number of unpleasant though not typically life-threatening side-effects.
DHMO is a major component of acid rain.
Gaseous DHMO can cause severe burns.
Contributes to soil erosion.
Leads to corrosion and oxidation of many metals.
Contamination of electrical systems often causes short-circuits.
Exposure decreases effectiveness of automobile brakes.
Found in biopsies of pre-cancerous tumors and lesions.
Given to vicious dogs involved in recent deadly attacks.
Often associated with killer cyclones in the U.S. Midwest and elsewhere, and in hurricanes including deadly storms in Florida, New Orleans and other areas of the southeastern U.S.
Thermal variations in DHMO are a suspected contributor to the El Nino weather effect.
What they fail to see is that there were more “other” weapons and deaths caused by other than guns in this tragedy, but they are zeroing in on guns as the culprit, not the person who committed the acts.
Obviously they negated the use of knives and an auto for this mentally disturbed movie director’s son to accomplish the killings. Should we just all blame inanimate objects and seek to control them too?
Obviously they negated the use of knives and an auto for this mentally disturbed movie director’s son to accomplish the killings. Should we just all blame inanimate objects and seek to control them too? Where was his father in all this? Should we blame the police, the father, or the medical system too?
This is really all about rallying the base. Which shows the desperate position the Dems know they’re in.
They figure that things are so stacked against them that putting this out now won’t hurt them. Anyone offended by it was going to turn out and vote against the Dems anyway. So they do it to demonstrate to their base that they are still fighting, so the base won’t just get demoralized to the point of staying home. Which would turn the pending disaster into a catastrophe.
I disagree with this for a couple of reasons. First getting the courts to overturn anti-gun legislation is so rare as to be almost unique (Heller)
Secondly, they lose nothing by a court decision that is unfavorable to them. They immediately re-introduce the same flawed law again. It goes with the relentless part. Part of the problem with fighting anti-gunners is that when they lose, they don't really lose anything. But when we lose we actually lose something. If every gun control law were repealed this afternoon they would be in exactly the same position they are now.
Did not the Supremes in its history, besides Heller strike some gun control laws down? Check back with me when you find anything. Thank-you.
Plus I have noticed more gun rights sucess stories on the state levels in a number of states.
with the exception of the supremes ruling tht Heller applier to Chicago, I'm not aware of any favorable rulings. You're correct on the expanding number of states with carry, BUT We've lost the RIGHT to keep and bear arms with the instant background check. If you have to get the government's permission to do something it's NOT a right. You don't have to get permission to exercise a right. Concealed carry is also with a very few exceptions is under government license - again not a right but a privilege. We've lost the right to buy full auto unless they were registered prior to '86. So while there is some positive news, the overall trend for the last 80 years is away from rights.
But my point is that antigunners never quit, ever. They will never be satisfied unless we're totally disarmed and then they'll start on knives and slingshots - look at England.
An interesting take:
If we just had common-sense mental illness laws.....
You got it!
BINGO! We have a winner!
Or common sense high functioning autism control laws.
