I bet Cochran got some big, big points plus-up from the Democratic party for keeping his Democrat traitor executive assistant employed.

There is simply no excuse for this other than Cochran is a frigging Vichy RINO.

Well, gollee…ol’ Thad doesn’t mind paying that rent a bit. In fact, she may even give him a discount *wink*. That “till death us do part” is for the Little People.

Is Kay Webber from Mississippi? She has worked for Senator Cochran since she was 43 years old. My daddy had women who worked for him for longer than that, and he wasn’t having affairs with them. And they were incredibly loyal. Anywho is Kay Webber a widow or divorced or never married? I am just curious about people. I like to know their connections and “who their people are.”

As I posted on another thread, Thad Cochran’s housing arrangements need another look.

He pays $2,000 a month for his “apartment” in the home of his executive assistant. Ms. Webber makes $144,000 a year, but the house is worth at least $1.7 million. Maybe she bought it years ago, paid off the mortgage long ago and is enjoying the run-up in prime D.C. real estate.

On the other hand, if the home is a fairly recent purchase—say, about the time Mrs. Cochran entered a nursing home and the Senator sold his home in Alexandria—then Ms. Webber paid at least $1.4 million for the place. I’m not a mortgage banker, but she would have needed a sizable down payment on the home (at least $150K) and her monthly mortgage payments are somewhere between $6-8K. That would be a little hard to swing, even on her salary of $12k a month (before taxes) and the monthly rent check from Thad.

However, I’m sure that Thad’s girlfriend got a really good deal on the mortgage, thanks to his friends in the banking industry. Meanwhile, Cochran’s “home” address in Oxford, MS has changed frequently as well.

I lived in Oxford for a number of years (I moved away a decade ago). After he supposedly became a resident in 2002, I only remember seeing him at football games and other functions at Ole Miss. Admittedly, I didn’t run in the same social circles, but in my experience, Thad wasn’t in town unless he had an official reason to be there.
