Kentucky Guv: Either McConnell Is Clueless Or Misleading On Obamacare
talkingpointsmemo.com ^ | 5/28/14 | Daniel Straus

Add Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear (D) to the list of Democrats attacking Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) for saying Obamacare should be repealed but Kentucky's Obamacare exchange, Kynect, should stay in place.

That statement by McConnell's campaign has sparked criticism by both the Lexington Herald Leader editorial board and Jonathan Hurst, the campaign manager for Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes, who's running against McConnell.

Here's Beshear's response, passed to TPM on Wednesday in response to questions about McConnell's position:

Eliminating ACA means that folks with pre-existing conditions will struggle to find coverage, young adults won't be able to stay on their parents' coverage, women won't be treated equally by insurers and federal subsidies for Kentuckians will end. Senator McConnell either doesn't understand what the ACA is, or is just trying to mislead Kentucky families for his political benefit at their expense.

Beshear has been widely praised for setting up Kynect, which is often regarded as the model for state-based marketplaces created through Obamacare.

It is a term used to describe voter enthusiasm.

The fact is McConnell only won his last election in KY by 6%.
And that was before he trashed every conservative in Ky.

It will only take a small percent of KY conservatives to make McConnell
the newest member of Trent Lott’s DC Lobbying Firm.

There will not be enough Rove/Bushite votes to save McConnell.

McConnell is an anti-conservative who promised to use his power and office to squash the TEA Party. He needs to be sent home.

...”If democrats win a 2/3 to 80% majority in Congress like some people here seem to want, then it will be America that gets destroyed.”...

Straight talk refreshes, Impy, and I agree whole-heartedly.

Reid and Obama sure hope there won’t be. I disagree with them.

I won't be voting for Cornyn in the general election.

His critical cloture vote to support Reid's removal of the debt limit was the last straw.

That Reid-supporting liberal bastard can win or lose without my vote.

I notice you failed to answer my question.

If you hope Grimes will win, then you support her, there is no meaningful distinction between hoping a candidate will win and supporting them.

Now it’s extremely unrealistic to hope both she AND McConnell will lose but I can respect that if that is your position. Both are “liberals” (even though he’s not but I’ll play along) so if you hate “liberals” you should hope they both lose.

I’ll ask again, do you hope Grimes will lose?

I think you are playing mind games, Johnny.

Absolutely!

How come Reid and Obama endorsed the *itch then? Hmm? If he’s so good for them why do they want her? Think.

It’s an “or” condition because of the Federal subsidies.

The KY governor is basically saying that he loves the KY system, but doesn’t want to actually pay for it.

If McConnell loses he will only have himself to blame for trashing
the same voters he will need to win.
Plus, he has already begun to run leftward for the general.

McConnell is a 90% conservative who got pissy during a primary battle and said stupid things about a group (the asenate Conservative Fund) that opposed his candidacy. Rand Paul gets as pissy several times a day.

Do you know who actually wants to destroy conservatives? Grimey, his Democrat opponent.

true..depends on the Senate Ldr, If it's "Cornhole", what difference would it make?
if it's SML CRUZ, and SotH Louie Golmert (hopefully) it's "lights-on" for "Bathhouse"
Barrack 0'Muslim et al. ("Rustler" Reid in prison/Nazi Nancy, too much Botox)

McConnell and his team should have thought about that before they
trashed every conservative in KY.

Again, the Democrat nominee would be far more liberal than Cornyn, and it iwould be idiotic to let him win. However, given that Cornyn will win by 20% irrespective of what you and your Life of Brian Suicide Squad do, go ahead and write-in Davey Crockett or something (but don’t write-in Sam Houston, since the RATs actually got someone with that name to run statewide in TX). But in races in which the liberal Democrat has a chance of defeating the 90% conservative Republucan, don’t advocate the election ofvthe liberal Democrat.

But you see, it will require 100% of KY conservatives turning out for
for McConnell to save him.

That ain’t gonna happen.

Not every conservative in KY is going to turn the other cheek like you.
after McConnell stomped on them. You will still get your check if
McConnell loss.
