Texas Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst (R) has lost his GOP primary, ending more than a decade in office.
The Associated Press has called the race for Texas state Sen. Dan Patrick (R), a hard-charging conservative who focused on illegal immigration. Patrick led Dewhurst by 64 percent to 36 percent with 9 percent of precincts reporting.

Dewhurst, a self-funding multi-millionaire, had finished well behind Patrick in the first round of voting two months ago. The race had gotten increasingly nasty in the closing weeks of the campaign, punctuated by the release of Patrick's mental health records. The lieutenant governor, first elected in 2002, never really recovered from his hard-hitting primary loss to now-Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) two years ago, and was vulnerable to a challenge from the right.
Democrats are hopeful that their nominee, Texas state Sen. Leticia Van De Putte (D), will have a shot now against Patrick in the general election due to his hardline conservative views,. Though Democrats are optimistic about Van De Putte and gubernatorial nominee Wendy Davis (D), any statewide nominee for the party still has a steep climb in Texas.

Indeed.
When Huckleberry supported Dewhurst/Establishment against the people’s Choice TED CRUZ...Huckleberry is now just a useful...tool for a more Conservative America...
...same for Nit Gingrich...when he sat on the couch with Pelosi and pushed GlobaloneyWarming...he once did Great things for America...but he stopped...we have moved on.
America can be saved...if it wakes up.
We can give them the choice.
Pray for America.
I bet any of them would wink at Obama and snap their thong panties at him.
Given a million-to-one odds, I wouldn't hazard a quarter on her chances.
I commented on a presidential candidate, how do you confuse that with the personal attack made on me evidently reflecting bad personal feelings that have nothing to do with thread or my posts on this thread.
Do not confuse Senator and rino/libertarian Presidential Candidate Paul with yourself as a freeper.
Mixing a rino like Paul in with a conservative like Cruz, and on this Texas night, is an obscenity.
In regards to Romney’s man, Rand Paul:
“”Evolve? Adapt? As in accepting the grand triumph of abortionism, homosexualism, atheism, isolationism, socialism; defeatism, open borders, free condoms, free drugs, etc, and just move on? Can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em? Better red than dead?
No thanks. I’ll fight ‘em ‘til I die.

Yup. Only he wants to adapt, evolve and advance the homo agenda and open borders more than the older democrats were able to do. Sorry, young Turk Rand. Young comrade Obama beat you to it. Forward!

I’m so happy you are back posting again!! (of course it won’t be complete until I see the first “Nellie” pic from you!!)
Smiling. I’ll try to get one posted tomorrow.
I’m exhausted tonight. Terribly busy day and so many things went wrong, including a leaking pantry and the rain just stopped. Everything will have to wait at least until tomorrow and even later on.... God bless and keep you.
Texas Tea Party Dead? Its like General Santa Anna saying the Texans revolt was done with the fall of the Alamo.
You’re absolutely the very best. Thank you so much, dearest musicman. Call it a night. I have to. We’ll get it done before month’s end at the good rate we’re going. FReepers have always come through for our great forum. God bless and keep you and my prayers for you and your beautiful, darling wife and sweet pets. See you tomorry, God willing. Good night.
Like I wrote earlier, I don't know what previous exchanges you have had, and I don't care. But, you waded into this thread with a clear agenda to provoke an argument with entropy12. I've been following several of the TX primary election threads tonight, and apparently that's how you are entertaining yourself this evening.
Do not confuse Senator and rino/libertarian Presidential Candidate Paul with yourself as a freeper.
Ah, the passive aggressive personal attack. I suppose you thought you were being clever.
In regards to Romneys man, Rand Paul:
WOW! They did it. I’d feared name ID/incumbency would work in his favor, but he sounds quite a bit like our (VA’s) immediate past Repub Lt. Gov., a bitter, angry, middle of the road, entitled, nasty SOB.
Wow, so far all you are doing is making personal attacks and playing troll.
I wasn’t looking for a fight with anyone, like most freepers and JR, I don’t like Cruz’s name mixed up with that rino/libertarian, Rand Paul, especially on this Texas night.
Rather than all this girlish personal stuff, why don’t you respond to my posts about Paul/Cruz/Texas if they so upset you.
The subject of my posts.
Like McConnell.
March, 2013--"Rand Paul endorses Mitch McConnell in 2014 Senate race, wont back tea party challenge"
I suggested that you follow your own advice to entropy12. If you consider that a personal attack, then you have a pretty thin skin.
I wasnt looking for a fight with anyone, like most freepers and JR, I dont like Cruzs name mixed up with that rino/libertarian, Rand Paul, especially on this Texas night.
Rather than all this girlish personal stuff, why dont you respond to my posts about Paul/Cruz/Texas if they so upset you.
I don't care about your posts about Paul/Cruz/Texas. To me, your opinion doesn't amount to anything important.
Let me guess, you are one of the libertarians yourself? A Paul backer?
That is why you didn’t see post 31 as a legitimate post, somehow you saw it as a personal attack?
I just checked, sure enough you are a rino/libertarian yourself, so that explains this mysterious weirdness you have been posting, you want to lash out at the conservatives without revealing that you are angry because of the point made about Paul and libertarianism.
To: entropy12
You shouldnt be lumping a rino/libertarian like Paul in with Cruz, especially tonight.
This is about Texas conservatism tonight.

Why don’t you just skip the childishness, and get to the politics and politician that you want to defend?
I sincerely appreciate your response to ansel12’s post.
In the end we are all in this together. Most of us here agree on 80 to 90% of issues. That is fine inside a forum like this. If we keep criticizing others over specific issue differences, what remains will be so small, as to make us all irrelevant.
Guess who will benefit from that? The Rats and liberals who seem to be more united regardless of differences on some issues.
Nope, I'm an independent. And, I'm not backing anyone at this point. I'm glad to see the outcome of these primary contests in Texas tonight, but that's the extent of my interest.
That is why you didnt see post 31 as a legitimate post, somehow you saw it as a personal attack?
I saw it as a posting intended to provoke an argument, and completely tangential to the original poster's point: that good candidates can overcome money from the "establishment".
I just checked, sure enough you are a rino/libertarian yourself, so that explains this mysterious weirdness you have been posting, you want to lash out at the conservatives without revealing that you are angry because of the point made about Paul and libertarianism.
No, I'm not a RINO, or a libertarian, and I don't want to lash out at conservatives. I'm not angry, but just think you -- you personally, not anyone else --- are a bully, compensating for something you feel you aren't getting. I think you need professional help.
Have a nice day.
Actually this is a conservative site, and Rand Paul is not conservative, please don’t be linking him with Ted Cruz, and especially on this Texas night.
When I look at your posting history, I see libertarian and Paul arguments and social liberalism defending.
A post that was negative about Paul and libertarianism is what set you off on this thread.
Yet you want to concentrate on a starnge personal attack rather than discuss them and why it would upset freerepublic conservatives to see their names mixed together on a Texas, conservative night.
