You know this is an aspect of this issue that I hadn’t thought of. Maybe the conditions in the institutions were bad because of the caliber of employees. I remember in the seventies when the Warm Springs workers went on strike. One of the problems was there were no places to live in Warm Springs so most lived in Butte, Deer Lodge or other places and had to commute. Commuting is a special hardship when you aren’t making much and most are going to get other jobs as soon as they can.
The Montana National Guard came in to work as aides during the strike. It was an education for many.
I dated a nurse named Steve. He was OK, a veteran.
COngratulations. I hope he wasnt the same one that pinched Ad guy in the arse.
I doubt it.
Lmao
I am more concerned about Moochelle taking a WIDE stance!
It appears I have disrespected you and I am sorry.
Take it easy lad, I am not feeling “disrespected” I am just trying to figure out wth you are talking about. Go about your business as usual.
You did but i give credit for addressin it
I had to leave during the first hour, but Mark was criticizing people on talk radio ( and probably other forums like social media) for piling on the Rodger parents and jumping to other conclusions in regards to the Rodger case. He has a point. It really is a good idea to wait until more facts come out to go out on a limb the way some of these people( Medved, Glenn Beck) are.
I’m tired of the school lunch discussion. FLOTUS needs a new hobby. Why not dismantle the cafeterias and have everybody bring sack lunches from home? We did. Then everybody would have whatever parents deemed appropriate and whatever they’d eat. Kids are picky little buggers. Usually a few months of living on ones own fixes that. It did me.
To be honest I feel like we as Christians should talk and share without the debate you know wanna what I mean?
Now many schools will not allow lunches from home. They give the excuse that many children bring unhealthy food and the possibility of things other children are allergic to. I usually took a lunch, not sure how we survived with our sack lunches.
I have a bad habit of making things coming out the wrong way.
The Sidwell Friends menus did sound pretty yummy, didnt they?

May I recommend that you take your thoughts and your faith to one of the religion threads, as opposed to the Levin thread. I do not now, nor have I ever cared to debate religion with anyone on the Levin thread(or any other thread for that matter)
Yes, it’s a mystery why there are so many food allergies now. Some think it may be GMOs.
My mother went to the same country school I did, about 200 miles east of Spokane. But she went during the depression and I went in the sixties. She always packed a lovely, well balanced lunch for me. When she was a girl I’m sure that her lunches were nutritious too. But she said that some kids had lard or plain mustard sandwiches just before payday and baloney just after payday. I think some also had store bread. Some of the lard sandwich families went to the movies A LOT more which wouldn’t be saying much because my grandparents never went!
I do remember the horror story a few years ago about the teacher who threw away a girls sack lunch and replaced it with chicken nuggets. That would make me so mad—home schooling time.
Agreed
By asking about “breaking bread”, do you refer to partaking of the sacrament?
