“Benefits” has become a monster. Gone are the days that one’s doctor (1) charged $20 for a one-hour visit, and (2) had nothing to do with one’s employment. Today the market is distorted in multiple ways, and taxes such as this one amount to a bandaid upon a bandaid upon a bandaid on gangrene.
Today you are lucky to get 5 mins with a Internist, 10 with a Specialist. They don’t even know their drugs, or know the FDA warnings. I have a specialist and an Internist both shilling OP drugs. POISON. FDA warning on the lot.

I remember when you paid for doctor, meds, your ins did not cover it. It covered OR, In hospital, or ER with a deductible.
Medicare/Tricare Life paid a whole 28 cents to the Gastro the last office visit of 30 mins, he is old fashion, he spends time with his patients, and they wonder why doctors are dumping Seniors.
