IMO being a good doctor and being a good president require entirely different skills.

Ben has the fever. I see him as a good VP choice (because he has 0 experience) paired with a governor. But I do respect the man and think he would be a good president. Being a Surgeon and department head is better experience that being a community organizer and professor.
