In this instance I see Paisley serving the office rather than this president. Paisley traveled to perform for the troops. He did so from the vantage point of being a guest of the presidency. Does that cause the troops to feel more, or perhaps less honored? I don’t honestly know?
I believe they appreciated the performance. I doubt they thought kind thoughts about bath-house Barry, but who knows.
What drives the blade into some folks is the harsh political reality that this trip to Afghanistan was a show for Obama’s benefit and Paisley was a tool used by Obama to divert attention from the deaths of our veterans because of “waiting lists” at VA hospitals.
I’m with you on this one. I don’t know much about Mr. Paisley’s politics, but I do know that if I was one of the men in that audience, I’d be mighty glad for the show.
