The Democrats majority in the Senate is on the line this election season, and if Republicans take back control, the GOP will need to decide on new rules for the new Congress in the upper chamber. Some Republican members are willing to go back to way things were before Harry Reid took the gavel.
In the wake of the recent controversial nomination of Judge David Barron, author of the memo which gave a legal basis to kill Americans abroad with drones, to the first U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, Republicans became apoplectic after getting word that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid threatened to change the filibuster rules on federal nominees again to make the process favor the majority further. Don Stewart, spokesman for Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, told Breitbart News on Wednesday that McConnell has already made it clear that, should the Republicans take back the Senate, decisions on rules will be made among conference members.
Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), known for his 13-hour filibuster last March against CIA Director John Brennan, filibustered Barron on Wednesday, but as a result of Reids recent

They do nothing while promising to fix it all if they just gain some more seats in the future. That really worked well under GWB...
If the idea is to block Obama’s radical appointees the the Republicans should return to the 60 vote cloture standard. If the R’s have a 51-49 majority all it takes is one cowardly Republican RINO to vote for a nominee and then Biden breaks the tie. I would rather take my chances the D’s cannot but off 10 votes than one.
I think they should restore it... after using the first 2 or 3 years of power to undo a lot of the damage the Dems did and ram through an appropriate number of appointments. Then, after due consideration...
You still believe they don't share the same goals?
Point taken; the line between the two does grow thinner.
When people do things that are inexplicable, I always assume someone has a file on them complete with photos and audits. They are allowed to continue on with their careers as a conservative, say whatever they want to say on Fox, but watch them twist and turn and do triple-axels to explain how selling you out is really true conservatism.
They preserve their “conservative” rating by always voting conservative when the vote isn’t close. But when their vote matters, you’ll see them start the tap-dancing. Guys like this are never with you when it matters but they have mastered the machine, and are owned by it. They have other allegiances.
Harry Reid made this mess, now when the GOP takes the Senate let them live with it
Republicans just don't think. It's all guess work with them.
The GOP Establishment is not a bunch of idiots. They know EXACTLY what they are doing, which is implementing the Globalist Agenda in tandem with their Democrat pals. The only idiots here are the rank-in-file Republican rubes that keep voting for these Establishment creeps.
Consider the fact that we really don’t want them to pass anything, such as immigration reform. Keep it in tack and the 40 conservatives could block a moderate- democrat initiative... I say go for it.
