President Barack Obama slipped into Afghanistan for a surprise visit Sunday and made clear that the U.S. will likely maintain a limited role here even after its combat mission ends this year and Americas longest war comes to a close.
Americas commitment to the people of Afghanistan will endure, he pledged.
Speaking to troops gathered in an airplane hangar on this sprawling military base, Obama said the war had reached a pivotal point, with Afghan forces assuming primary responsibility for their countrys security. But while many of the 32,800 U.S. forces now in Afghanistan will leave in the coming months, Obama said a continued military presence could help protect gains made during nearly 13 years of fighting.
After all the sacrifices weve made, we want to preserve the gains that you have helped to win and were going to make sure that Afghanistan can never again, ever, be used again to launch an attack against our country, Obama declared.

MURDERER!
The Senator Kerry said, “Nothing bad happened after we left Viet Nam.”
Thats already a lie. Obama's ROE have already killed proportionately more Americans in Afghanistan than died under his predecessor.
Or maybe thats what he deems as 'responsible'.
Why aren’t American citizens marching in the streets, demanding an end to this war like during Viet Name? Maybe because the MSM refuses to show us what is actually happening there. The longest war and what do we have to show for it? Lots of dead Americans and billions of dollars wasted.
Odumbo could end the war against the American people peacefully if he would just commit suicide. (sarc)
Oh, wait. I think I remember...
I’m also not to the point of ‘loving the sinner not the sin,’ when it comes to evil doers like child rapists, child murderers and evil democrats. Heck, look at our Founders! Brave, honest men. They wouldn’t put up with this current bunch and their crap.
God bless and keep you, dearest Viking2002.
The dimrats are so good at surrendering.
And down the road, we will be at it again.
