As for Inquisition, dunno if you’re grinding an old Jewish grudge or not, but if I had to choose whether to be in Inquisition Spain or to be in Stalinist Russia, it would be a no brainer choice. They were pretty merciful to those who didn’t go out on a public limb to badmouth the Catholic church.
