SALT LAKE CITY (AP) A gay rights organization is calling on Utah Gov. Gary Herbert to apologize for suggesting homosexuality is a choice and for calling decisions by other state leaders to not defend same-sex marriage bans the "next step to anarchy."
John Netto, head of the Utah Pride Center's board, said the governor's comments during his monthly televised news conference Thursday were hurtful.
"To suggest that allowing gay marriage is the foundation of anarchy, to us, is hate speech," Netto told The Salt Lake Tribune (http://bit.ly/1mjgsGh ). "We think he is uneducated ... on current scientific positions in regard to human sexuality."
Herbert's office didn't immediately respond to requests for comment

I was being sarcastic.
And it wasn’t so many years ago that homosexuals didn’t want to hear it was “nature”
Now they put out the falsehood it’s 100% “we were born that way” BFS Any family lawyer will tell you they have clients with kids who want out for same sex partners. If this was a “Choice” they wouldn’t have had the kids in the first place
The truth just kills these b*******
The truth requires no apology.
Yeah, I still don’t get how it’s a ‘choice’. For me, heterosexuality was never a question. However, for some here, they had to make a ‘choice’ about their sexuality? Interesting!
“For some it is a choice. For others it is a mental malfunction that occurred after they were sexually molested as children.”
My opinion differs on that. I am convinced that it is a “mental malfunction” in all cases. (Or so close to all as to make any exceptions irrelevant.)
Same-sex attraction disorder is similar to PTSD, in that it is induced by trauma. In the case of SSAD, the trauma is sexual in nature, which causes some percentage of the victims of seduction or molestation in the pre-adult years to develop this particular disorder.
The good news is that it is treatable. At the very least, a true understanding of the nature of their disorder might help victims get right with God.
“Yeah, I still dont get how its a choice. For me, heterosexuality was never a question. However, for some here, they had to make a choice about their sexuality? Interesting!”
I didn’t choose to be heterosexual; I just am.
But then, IMO, everyone is heterosexual. An unfortunate few suffer from same-sex attraction disorder, but even they could be helped.
Now that is just f*cking disgusting. And yes, the vulgarity is called for.
Was that done in Photoshop? Somebody did a hell of a job.
“This is nothing less then thought control.”
In “Political CorrectnessThe Revenge of Marxism, Gates of Vienna,” Baron Bodissey wrote, “Political correctness is communist propaganda writ small. In my study of communist societies, I came to the conclusion that the purpose of communist propaganda was not to persuade or convince, nor to inform, but to humiliate; and therefore, the less it corresponded to reality the better. When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is to co-operate with evil, and in some small way to become evil oneself. Ones standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed. A society of emasculated liars is easy to control. I think if you examine political correctness, it has the same effect and is intended to.
Adam Michnik, a Polish intellectual imprisoned six times by the former puppet-Soviet Communist rulers, wrote, “Anyone who has suffered that humiliation, at some level, wants revenge. I know all the lies. I saw people being killed. But I also know that revanchism is never ending. And my obsession has been that we should have a revolution that does not resemble the French or Russian, but rather the American, in the sense that it be for something, not against something. A revolution for a constitution, not a paradise. An anti-utopian revolution. Because utopias lead to the guillotine and the gulag.”
“Any family lawyer will tell you they have clients with kids who want out for same sex partners.”
As with any mental disorder, same-sex attraction disorder can fall anywhere on a spectrum from very mild to very severe. The frequency with which the victim acts out his compulsions, therefore, also varies greatly.
It can also spontaneously change in intensity with the passage of time. Some men decide to go straight after years of believing themselves to be “gay,” while some married men find that their disorder no longer allows them to remain married.
Once we start seeing SSAD for what it is, it seems more tragic than complicated.
In college, I joined a very fundamentalist church. We had a brother who struggled with his homosexuality. He was very open about it. I left the church and always wondered if he conquered it...
The odds were against him, sorry to say, but God’s mercy is astounding, so maybe he did, or will.
“For 20 years they have openly disparaged redheads”
Really? I guess it will make me look like an idiot, but I never heard that until just now.
Why would they disparage redheads?
Question! What is the basis for your claim homosexuals hate/disparage people with red hair? I don’t like homosexual behavior and have seen such close up but I never associated such behavior with a red hair dislike.
Within the homosexual community, red-head men are referred to as ‘gingers.’ Gingerism has been a part of the homosexual community for a long time. Gingers have been stereotyped as slovenly, untrustworthy, promiscuious and prone to cheating, bad tempered, mentally unstable, ‘soul-less’ outcasts, not suitable for a stable relationship, etc etc. Basically all the negative stereotypes that used to be levied against red-headed women.
That this negative stereotype and gingerism is still very much practiced in the homosexual community is evidenced by the Dec 2013 release of a film aimed at the gay community, with a focus on “dismantling the stigma” surrounding redheaded gays.
Good for Gov. Herbert. I hope he stays the course and even doubles down. We absolutely need some states to stand up and start doing what is right in all things - from the sickness and perversion of homosexuality, to FedZilla's corrupt takeover of the people and the state rights.
Here are some of the items I found particularly interesting in this article (paraphrased by me for brevity and clarity with my comments in brackets):
Utah Gov. Gary Herbert .. suggesting homosexuality is a choice and for claiming to other state leaders that same sex-marriage is the "next step to anarchy."
John Netto said the governor's comments .. were hurtful. [Oh grow a pair, - hurtful(?)]
"To suggest that allowing gay marriage is the foundation of anarchy, to us, is hate speech," Netto said. "We think he is uneducated ... on current scientific positions in regard to human sexuality." [Oh this is too much. Gay marriage IS the foundation of anarchy. It is gross. It is insanity. It is a mental sickness. And hate speech to you? Of course you would consider it hate speech, you are sick and depraved, not able to determine right for wrong, evil from good. You think the Gov. is uneducated because he doesn't agree with your perverted mental sickness, yea, right. "Current" scientific positions in regard to human sexuality - too funny. Sin doesn't change based on current scientific positions. Also, the use of the term "current" is very telling here, maybe the "current" scientific position will change in 2 years, or 5 years, or whatever; but it doesn't make a difference - homosexuality will always and forever be sin!]
Herbert said Thursday that he remains committed to defending Utah's same-sex marriage ban, which was struck down by a federal judge in December. [Boy, I hope he is committed to defending the same-sex ban. Do what he has to to defend it. The people in this country have repeatedly voted against this mental perversion and will support the governor.]
Double down Gov. Herbert. We need someone in a state to start standing up against this gay crap. And then others will follow.
Hey Governor: tell them to go f#ck themselves, that’s what they do best after all.
Kind of like Stockholm syndrome, Huh?
