Petro Poroshenko wins Ukraine's presidency in the first round, according to the results of two national exit polls, with approximately 56 percent of the vote.
Ukrainians elected Petro Poroshenko to be their fifth president in a vote that was dubbed "the second independence referendum."
Poroshenko won his presidency in the first round, according to two exit polls.
The poll conducted by four TV channels showed that he received 57.8 percent of the vote. The national exit poll, conducted by a consortium of reputable survey takers, put Poroshenko at slightly less -- 55.9 percent of the votes, but still a clear majority.
His main rival, former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, received 12.8 of the vote in the TV poll and 12.9 percent in the national poll.
Everyone else finished in single digits in both exit polls.
A second round of voting would have been required on June 15 if no candidate among the 21 on the ballot had secured the majority of votes.

Thank goodness No Yulia Timoshenko. Ukraine deserves a chance to be on its own. Unaligned and independent
The East boycotted the presidential election which was neither fair nor free.”

As long as all admirers of Vladimir Putin are deported first, and all Russian soldiers curently in Ukraine shot and killed...
If we’ve been through this before, then you know I am aware of Moscow, Indiana. One of these days, I’ll have to drive down there again and look for a double-wide made out to look like FSB headquarters. What was the name of that prison, again? Starts with a L, I think. Can’t look it up, I’m on my mobile.

Do you prefer those onion-dome things on your trailer?
Russian terrorists prevented the people of the southeast from voting. If they want to blame someone for their disenfranchisement, they should blame the mass murderer and war criminal KGB Putin.
Traitors whose loyalty is to Russia don’t deserve to get a vote. They should go vote in Russia.
“If they want to blame someone for their disenfranchisement, they should blame the mass murderer and war criminal KGB Putin.”
But not the Obama Administration for creating this entire situation in the first place, right??
Remember, NONE of this would be happening, Crimea would still be flying a Ukrainian flag, and people wouldn’t be dying in the Southeast had not the Obama Administration chosen to support the most radical, and the most violent groups at the Maidan.
You just cannot ignore that.
Obama did not create this situation at all. Nor did he support the most violent groups at the Maidan. Those are nothing but commie lies.
“Ukraine deputy PM has announced, this evening, that Kiev forces will resume attacks in the SE”
Does this have the approval of Poroshenko?
Or is this the election losers trying, yet again, to change the facts on the ground to their advantage?
“Obama did not create this situation at all. Nor did he support the most violent groups at the Maidan. Those are nothing but commie lies.”
Okey-dokey, then....
You are going to ignore the long-established facts, I see. No sense interacting with you any further.
Yes, the Ukrainian people were able to have their dictator resign, who then fled the country. Meanwhile, Putin invades a sovereign land. And you assign the blame to ... the victim. That is the logic a wife beater, or a man like Putin.
