A Memorial Weekend Prayer for America

Almighty God, we do not live in the best of times, because that will be after Your return. Yet, despite this nation’s lack of focus on You, we still live in hopeful times. We have great hope in prayer if Your people pray for this nation to turn to You. The nation is at a sinful point regarding immorality, idol worship, injustice, crime, religious hypocrisy, rebellion, political arrogance, and spiritual ingratitude. All of these remind us that You are a just God, and that a just God must judge. But, this sinfulness also reminds us that ‘where iniquity abounds, grace does much more abound.’ So, in perilous times we pray for grace. Our hope is based on Your grace. It is for Your glory that we pray that You shower this land with Your grace, the only hope to break the power of sin that has captured our people. We pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
