In-saaaaaaane!
I’m running a special this week. I’ll pack a trunk for just $999!
scented candles?
WHAT!?!?
Just like Sparta.
These are the people that will be among the first to die if there is ever a serious catastrophe. They will expect they can swipe a credit card or write a check and others will take care of them. And they will find out that when it comes down to it, you need to be able to take care of yourself.
Scented candles and extra shelving at camp is not a way to make sure your child can care for themselves. *shudder*
For $1,000 I’ll whip the rug rodent and tell him to pack his own bag!!!
Remember how in 2012 we were supposed to grovel to these folks as our saviors, they were the ‘job creators’ after all.
ala Romney.
These parents obviously have no clue why they should be sending kids to camp, and it’s not just so Mommy and Daddy can take their dream vacations (probably separately). My kids packed for camp themselves, starting at age 11. They found the list of what they needed and checked to make sure they had everything. I went through their lists and asked if they had everything, but it was their responsibility to pack, and I didn’t physically check on whether they did it correctly.
The difference is I’m not raising dependent democrats. My kids are the productive ones that they are counting on to protect and care for their inept parasites.
$250/hour... that’s awesome! I love the free market.
No one on FR knows anyone like this, indeed 99.9% of Americans don’t know anyone like this. BUT reporters for the Leftist media do.
That tells you a lot about what drives the news.
If it’s their honestly earned money I have no problem with this. I think it’s silly, but they are providing a job for somebody else. That’s capitalism. What I do have a problem with is that these people more than likely vote Democrat, and they don’t see the irony in this scenario.
Can’t the maid do it?
One of the guys at your local moving company would probably do it for <$100/hr.
If ever there were a picture of a “First World problem”, I believe we have found it in this article.
Who packs it back up when it’s time to go home? I wonder if it will fit. Maybe they give them photos with how to re-pack the items.
I thought she was going to say that she would miss tucking her kids in at night.
When I was a little kid, I lived in a Norman Rockwell neighborhood. Dinner bells. Playing hide and seek until dark. Pick-up baseball. The ice cream man... It was kid heaven.
But there was one kid in the neighborhood who was sent to camp for the entire summer.
What did I think when I was 8? "His parents must not want him around." I was very grateful that my parents didn't send me away. Looking back, I think of all the wonderful summers he missed.
Today, he says that he enjoyed his time at camp.
But I would describe his relationship with his parents as tortured.
And neither he nor his other sibling have had any children.
Huh. Rich kids camps.
As a kid, my family was dirt poor. The only camps I went to (against my will) were camps for poor kids, run by charitable organizations that cost us nothing. But then what do you get at a cheap, free of charge camp for poor kids? Surly, abusive counselors, lousy food (just oatmeal and a hard boiled egg for breakfast each and every morning for the entire month), sleep in a cabin with 30 strangers, on a mattress that has been urine stained by campers of previous summers, empty promises of hikes, trips, campfires, and horseback riding (never lay your eyes on a horse, much less get to ride one) and total boredom.
Spit.
Ten grand for camp?!? I can take the kid on a road trip and teach him all the computer science or biology or survival skills or whatever the camp is about and make 5 grand. And the kid will have great stories to tell.
Sign me up.
