A fundraising effort has started to help pay the legal bills of former Internal Revenue Service official Lois Lerner.
On May 7th, the House of Representatives approved a contempt citation against Lois G. Lerner, former Director, Exempt Organizations, Internal Revenue Service, for “refusal to comply with a subpoena duly issued by the Committee on Oversight & Government Reform.” Lerner handled matters relating to the tax-exempt status of organizations.
This week’s fundraising letter was addressed to former employees of the Federal Election Commission, where Lerner worked prior to the Internal Revenue Service. The letter, states, in part:
“We are quite concerned about the heavy financial burden (not to mention the psychological burden) these partisan actions have imposed on Lois. She has lost her job, been subjected to death threats, and has been forced to incur significant costs in retaining legal counsel. Hence, we’ve decided that we must do what we can to help her. Clearly, we cannot get Lois her job back or stop the hate mail. However, we can reach out to others to seek help in defraying her legal defense expenses.”
The letter was signed by two former employees of the Commission.
Editor’s note: This letter was received by the post’s writer, who is a former FEC employee.
Amen to that.
Looks like Lois Lerner brought this on herself by her criminal actions and then takes the fifth in a congressional hearing but blabs to the Just Us Dept who will not cooperate with that hearing.
I find it very difficult to have sympathy for a person committing suspected unlawful acts.
this has got to be a joke!!!
She is married to a big time Lawyer who owns his own Firm and they need fund raisers???
If the hag would have testified she wouldn’t need money...but she took the Fifth to cover up lies for Hussein, so let her pay her OWN way...
Question....Is fund raiser money considered ‘earned income’? and do they have to pay taxes on it? just wondering......
Well said, Smooth.
Who is she married to? Inquiring minds want to know.
So what exactly are her lawyers going to say in her defense? She received a freaking Congressional subpoena and told Congress to go to hell. I’m not getting her defense angle.
Oh. She’s a Democrat.
Never mind.
Seeing her in front of the committee, I wonder who would stay married to her with that arrogant attitude.
Basically, two partisan ex-FEC employees speak of Lois’s lack of partisanship because they are so partisan they can’t see it themselves. OK. Par for the course.
I have the toothbrush (or, as the case may be, the first few tubes of Poli-Grip, if permitted).
“....who would stay married to her with that arrogant attitude.”
Apparently a rich, arrogant DC lawyer. Birds of a feather and all that ......
The donations will be taxable. Surely she knows this.
LOL!
I’ll donate a 27 year old fridge if they’ll pick it up, it’s in the garage right by the door.
They don’t make em like the one I have anymore, it’s cherry and it’ll start right up when you plug er in and give er a kick on the side down low near the back. After a few days it’ll purr like a kitten.
ROFLOL!!! Hey, save that fridge for me! B^)
married to Michael Miles, a partner in Firm, SUTHERLAND,ASBILL,& BRENNAN based in Atlanta with offices in Washington, D.C. where her husband works.

Thanks!
She’s disgusting... I would send money to Charles Manson before sending her a dime. How dare she... how dare she target American citizens because of their political beliefs... What is the matter with these people?
Any bets that she hasn’t been promised by DOJ that if she keeps her mouth shut and continues taking the 5th until this fades away that they won’t do anything to her and she and her husband will be well taken care of seeing that they are both well connected Democrats.
On the other hand if she talks to the committee and says anything that they don’t like that she, her husband and maybe their children will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law (husband isn’t involved but he’s at a white shoe law firm, Sutherland Asbill & Brennan with extensive Democratic Party connections). Also the media surrogates will go after them like they went after Palin and Lewinski and others.
Nothing would surprise me at this point. We’re dealing with a dirty crowd.
These partisan actions? The authors of the letter seem unaware of the irony of their words. Can they really be that stupid, or are they just cynical, manipulative liars?
My guess is they’re crooked opportunists who intend to skim a big cut for themselves off of whatever they raise. It’s certainly what the fools who send them money deserve.
