"etroit's social disintegration started while the auto industry was still relatively healthy. By 1962, the first time I drove around in Detroit, there were already large areas of the City, just outside the very core, which looked like bombed out war zones. "
The efficacy of a City is often determined on whether or not the law is enforced, and whether law-abiding citizens want to live there.
Liberals don't seem to understand that.
Those whom you call "Liberals," whether here or abroad, are not reason driven. They are compulsion driven. I have been fighting them for well over half a century, and can demonstrate the point with many, many examples.
See, for example, Compassion Or Compulsion?
The Detroit pattern is not unique to America, but occurs wherever compulsion driven neurotics, seeking to rationalize Jacobin or Marxist type illusions, engage in adventures in social engineering or other airborne follies.
