A lot of energy is being expended by the NRSC and the various sociopaths it employs to drag septuagenarian Thad Cochran across the finish line in his primary battle with state senator Chris McDaniel. The latest contretemps is hard for the average citizen to fathom. Apparently there was a slow motion illegal entry by a blogger into a nursing home that houses Mrs. Thad Cochran. One that Thad Cochrans campaign knew about at least two weeks in advance. You might be surprised to learn his wife is confined to a nursing home. Because if you Google Thad Cochran + wife you will find the image at the top of this story.
That woman is not Mrs. Thad Cochran.
That woman is his executive assistant (translation: a government employee on Thad Cochrans office payroll) named Kay Webber.
She also happens to be Senator Cochrans landlord. He lives in the basement of her house. That house is valued at nearly $1.7 million. More via Breitbart:
Sen. Thad Cochran (R-MS) lives in the basement apartment in a house owned by his executive assistant, Kay Webber, which he has listed as his primary address on official forms. Now public records show Webber accompanied Cochran on dozens of taxpayer-funded trips overseas.
According to the Congressional Record, where trip details including cost are listed, Webber has traveled with Cochran at taxpayer expense to 42 countries across five continents since 2002.
For example, Cochran and Webber traveled eight times to France, five times to Italy, four times to Israel, and twice to Japan.

Well, the question of how a staffer making less than $100,000 a year could buy a $1 million home (with an $800,000 mortgage) has a partial answer: Cochran’s mistress got the wife of energy executive and Cochran campaign donor William T. Shows to co-sign the loan and then transfer her small ownership stake to Cochran’s mistress.

William T. Shows also donated to Mississippi Democrats such as Congressmen Ronnie Shows (a relative?) and Gene Taylor. He sounds like someone who made sure that his electric power company had influence over everyone, and what better way to exert influence over Cochran than to buy a DC home for his mistress (where Cochran can then “rent a room”)?
It’s sounding pretty scuzzy.
So, your advice is to vote for Cochran, even though we know he is banging his aide, ‘renting’ the basement illegally, and the upstairs is being used for Democrat fundraising?
It’s Chris Daniel’s response to all of this (how does one respond to this and keep the 11th commandment?) that should mean we vote for Cochran.
Just want to be clear here.
Actually Cochran’s staffer makes way more than 100K a year. In fact I’ve seen that she makes $144K/yr. Or, roughly 80% of her boss’s pay. Nice gig if you can get it.
Ping to 21 in case you haven’t seen it.
Maybe that’s what she gets now, but according to the article she made $71,000 when she “bought” the home for $1 million in 2001.
Interesting that her pay DOUBLED after Cochran moved in with her.
But who is she? Who are her people? Where is she from? Is she a widow or divorcee?
All unanswered questions. Most of the annotation I’ve seen describes her as “Mrs. Webber”.
I want to know what her voting registration is and has been. Is she as dim?
I have seen the Google photos including one from the early 2000s at a reception held at her house. But who is she? She is 70+years old. What is her life story? Where did she go to college? How did she come to work in a senator’s office?
I have no idea.
I reckon, she’s Cochran’s mistress, and where he found her or she found him, is a mystery to me, but I’ll wager ALL of his D.C. KNOWS.
Cochran did not own another house at the time. A loan application provided by Cochran’s campaign listed his present address as the apartment to the Capitol Hill rowhouse and said he had lived there for three and a half years. The primary residence box on the application was checked, indicating the cabin he was applying for a mortgage for would be his primary residence.
In an April 30, 2014 letter provided by Cochran’s campaign, James R.
Collins, the president and CEO of BNA Bank in Albany, Mississippi, said the second home rider designation was introduced into paperwork by a third party company that processed the deeds of trust.
All of BNA Bank’s records including loan application, affidavit of occupancy, lock confirmation, and underwriting approval indicate that Mr. Cochran applied for a mortgage loan to refinance his primary residence located in Oxford, Mississippi, Collins said in the letter.
Collins also said that representatives of Cimarron Mortgage Company, which processed the deeds of trust, introduced the secondary residence designation either by mistake or to meet Fannie Mae guidelines which generally say that for a residence to be considered a primary residence in the mortgage loan terminology, the owner must be able to commute to and from work.
Cochran’s late father-in-law, Hugh N. Clayton, was a director at BNA Bank, according to Cochran’s eulogy of Clayton on the Senate floor in 1994.

I’ll talk to a man in Yazoo today I asked him who he was voting for. He said I saw Haley at church Sunday and he told me to vote for thad
UGH. Haley goes to church? Shocks me.
I got call, (forget what they’re called - those recorded calls, robo, I think) from some idiot, female state senator) urging me to vote for that slimebag, so I hung up as soon as she said “Cochran”.
