Representative James Clyburn (D-SC) told NewsOne Now host Roland Martin Wednesday evening that the recently-announced Benghazi select committee, which just gained five Democratic members, was redolent of the efforts to intimidate black politicians during the Reconstruction.
“I seem to remember our history,” Clyburn said. “After reconstruction, when people of color gained political presence throughout the south, they drummed up all kinds of things, indictments and accusations, they drove these people out of the south. Some went to Chicago, some came here to Washington D.C. And I see the same kind of efforts to discredit this president and this administration.”

“If I didn’t know the history of this country so well, I might not be as concerned as I am [about the Benghazi select committee],” Clyburn continued. “I am concerned because I see us revisiting those same kinds of things that led to the end of Reconstruction at the end of the 1890s.”

“This” is a code word for “Those racist Republicans are picking on the president because he is black.” Clyburn is reading from the same script that Eric Holder used in front of Al Sharpton’s mob.
Reconstruction did not end because a committee of Congress sought to learn why a US Ambassador was refused security and was subsequently killed.
Historian Clyburn missed the fact that democrat carpetbaggers ripped off ex slaves and sent them packing.
These are the same carpetbaggers today who are destroying the great American middle class under cover of government authority, Rep Clyburn among them.
The Dem clown squad is going to do everything they can to turn a serious inquiry into a circus.
Is there ANYTHING Dems won’t play the race card about?

Rep. Clyburn regularly embarrasses his constituents from South Carolina.
Perhaps he has forgotten which political party spawned the KKK. Then again, it would appear Mr. Clyburn has a real hangup about race.
