With the number of Progressive Talk stations dwindling, yet another syndicated Liberal Talker is ending their terrestrial radio shows. Ed Schultz will cease production of his daily 12-3pm eastern show on Friday in order to focus more attention on his MSNBC TV show.
In its place Schultz will host a one hour streaming program and podcast on his WeGotEd.com. The podcast will debut on Tuesday, May 27. Schultz stated on MSNBC, This change will give me more flexibility to be on the road, to do the kind of shows I want to do here forThe Ed Show here on MSNBC. This is on me, you know. I just dont want to do a three-hour talk show anymore.
I think I’ll commemorate this by eating a big fat jelly donut with strawberry frosting.
Good riddance.
As an aside, does anyone listen to talk radio anymore? None of my friends do. I haven’t listened in years as it went the way of “news entertainment”.
They say radio is a hot medium and TV is a cool one. You aren’t supposed to be an unhinged ranter on TV. If this is how Ed seems on TV imagine how “hot” (and unhinged) he must have been on radio!
They are asking for the impossible.
So he's abandoning his dozens of listeners to devote more time to his hundreds of viewers.
Now we see why liberals hate the free market so much.
It never ever works out for them.
“Liberal talk radio never took off. I wonder why?”
Because the left totally owns the culture. Conservatives need the refuge of talk radio because that’s all we have. Liberals just have to turn on the TV and every news program, every sitcom, every drama, every every spews forth, confirms, embraces, encourages, perpetuates the leftist dogma. Liberal talk radio is a redundant waste of time.
Like Rush says, “I AM equal time.”
That is about the most accurate assessment that i think it is possible to make. you sir just won the internet. Hands down.
Touted as the liberal Rush Limbaugh. Fat enough but much dumber.
Bye bye, Special Ed.
Ed Schultz: Isn’t he the incompetent Nazi from Hogan’s Heroes?
The basic problem with the business plan is that the US government already provides about 15 commercial-free, statist radio stations in every market. Why would anyone want to listen to the same crap, but with 25 minutes of ads every hour?
I would suggest that liberals are more akin to someone who is blind because they deliberately poked their eyes out.
Any info of the numbers of viewers that caused Mr. Ed, “the ranting Liberal” to seek out more “flexibility?”
BTW, a Roadshow with Mr. Ed “ the ranting Liberal” and Howard Dean “the scream machine” would be a big draw at Anger Management Classes, IMHO, of course.
