Matt Bevin reaches into the breast pocket of his jacket and extracts a wrinkled, yellow piece of paper. "Fraud Alert," it reads, in alarming, official-seeming font. "Sensitive Materials Enclosed. Please Open Immediately."
A Republican he met received the notice in the mail a few weeks ago and showed it to Bevin, who now carries it with him wherever he goes.
Bevin, Mitch McConnell's tea party-backed Republican primary challenger in Kentucky, flattens it out on the table in the back of a community ballroom in Georgetown where he just addressed the Scott County Republican Party's Lincoln Day Dinner. The unfolded paper displays a litany of accusations against Bevin: He praised the Wall Street bailout in 2008. He doesn't pay his taxes. He padded his resume.
"This information is provided as a public service," the notice explains. It's an attack mailer from McConnell's re-election campaign, dressed up to look like an official government notice and sent to thousands of GOP primary voters across Kentucky.

How Mitch McConnell crushed the tea party
With money, duhh.
NOW, if real Americans do what Mark Levin is suggesting, stay home, then the 2 Billion dollar bitch loses in Nov.
If I lived in KY I would not vote for him.
Vote Democrat in November; the GOP-e would.
With TEN MILLION DOLLARS! That’s how. McConnell works from noon to about four, three days a week. He’s got plenty of time for fundraisers. It’s difficult for ordinary people to battle that.
But we’re doing it anyway.
My dislike for Mitch McConnell equals my dislike for Obama.
You mean it wasn’t money and the power of incumbency?
All Hail The RINO!
So it seems.
Well, let’s see if Tea Partiers stand on principle and don’t vote for him in Nov or if they “hold their nose”. Only then will we know.
I don’t feel crushed.
Democrats keep their man in office is more like it.
Look folks, defeating an incumbent is nearly impossible. I have helped candidates do it before but it is rough going, with far less than a 30% success rate even with good candidates to challenge a sitting office holder.
Suck it up!
We need to flip the Senate to GOP, and the libs will call it an Obama “win” if we do not.
I am not asking you to like Mitch, I don't particularly like the guy. I am asking you to keep your emotions out of this and think.
Suprise suprise.
I've heard several talk show hosts push this tactic, and I think it would be a powerful repudiation of the newest enemies of conservatism.
... In other news, man cuts-off thumbs to spite hands... developing...
Yes. Shows what GOPe $$ can buy - to fight conservatives harder than they fight the Dims.
Don’t worry the democrats will make sure he gets re-elected, he’s their best friend.
No way I’d vote for any dem over McConnell. Don’t like him but seriously? Harry Reid is much much worse.
